💚 Feedback like this means so much to us 💚
We recently received this beautiful handwritten message from one of the families we had the privilege of supporting as they said goodbye to their beloved cat, Rambo.
Knowing that we were able to bring a little comfort, compassion and peace to such a heartbreaking day is exactly why Home to Rest exists.
Saying goodbye to a much-loved pet is never easy. Our aim is simply to make those final moments as calm, gentle and dignified as possible, surrounded by the people they love and in the comfort of their own home. 🐾
Thank you to Rambo’s family for taking the time to write such incredibly kind words, and for trusting us to care for him at the end of his life. It truly means more than you know.

It’s one of the hardest questions a pet owner can ever face.

There isn’t always one clear moment when you suddenly know. Instead, it can help to look at the bigger picture:

❤️ Are they still enjoying the things they used to love?
❤️ Are they comfortable?
❤️ Are they eating and drinking?
❤️ Are they having more good days than difficult ones?
❤️ Are they still able to interact with the people and pets they love?

Sometimes simply having a conversation with your vet can help you understand what your pet is experiencing and what options are available.

And if you’re unsure, you don’t have to make a decision today.

We’re always happy to talk things through.

Abi is Paul’s wife, and together they work as a team to make sure every family receives the care, compassion and support they deserve during what can be one of the hardest times.

From your very first message through to arranging your appointment, Abi is here to make the process as simple and reassuring as possible. 🐾

🐾 MEET DR PAUL – THE VET BEHIND HOME TO REST 💚

For many of our families, meeting Paul happens at one of the most difficult moments in their lives. But behind Home to Rest is a vet who understands just how much our pets mean to us — because he’s experienced that heartbreak himself.

Paul qualified as a vet in 2011 and has cared for pets ever since. After his own family dog was peacefully put to sleep at home, he saw first-hand how special it could be to say goodbye in a familiar, loving environment.

That experience inspired him to create Home to Rest — giving other families the opportunity to say goodbye to their beloved pets at home, surrounded by the people, smells and memories they know and love. ❤️

Paul’s approach is simple: compassion, dignity, kindness and no rush.

Because at the end of the day, they’re not “just pets”…
they’re family. 🐾❤️

At Home to Rest, we’re proud to be a small, family-run business — and that means every family we care for truly matters to us.

Behind Home to Rest are Paul and Abi, husband and wife, working together to provide a personal, compassionate service from the very first enquiry through to saying goodbye. There’s no big call centre, no passing you from one person to another, and no feeling like you’re just another appointment.

When you contact us, you’re speaking to real people who genuinely care. We take the time to listen, answer your questions, explain your options and make sure everything is arranged around what feels right for you and your pet.

Being small means we can be personal, flexible and there when you need us — because we understand that every pet, every family and every goodbye is different.

🐾❤️ What a truly special weekend at Paws in the Park. ❤️🐾

We had the most wonderful time meeting so many lovely people and hearing the stories of the pets who mean so much to their families.

For us at Home to Rest, every conversation is a reminder of just how deeply we love our pets. They aren't simply animals — they are family, our companions, our comfort and a huge part of our lives. 🐾❤️

It was a privilege to meet so many of you, share stories, offer support and introduce people to what we do at Home to Rest. We know that talking about saying goodbye to a beloved pet can be incredibly difficult, and we feel honoured to be there for families when they need compassion, understanding and support.

And, of course, Angus our crazy Cocker Spaniel had an incredible weekend too! 🐶❤️ He made so many furry new friends and loved every minute of the attention — although we think he may have thought the whole event was organised especially for him! 😂🐾

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped to say hello, shared a story, gave Angus a fuss or simply took the time to learn a little more about Home to Rest.

Every pet leaves paw prints on our hearts, and it was so lovely to spend the weekend surrounded by so many beautiful ones. 🐾🌈❤️
