Meet Thea, our newest Farm Administrator at Dalehead. ✨🐄🐑
She brings a strong mix of hands‑on farming experience and practical farm‑vet knowledge to the team.
Before joining us, Thea worked across multiple dairy, beef and sheep farms, building a solid foundation in livestock care and day‑to‑day farm operations. She also studied agriculture at college, and later worked as a Farm Co‑ordinator in another Veterinary practice, supporting farm clients and organising herd‑health visits.

Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the countryside with her cocker spaniel, Brandy, and renovating the home she and her partner, Josh, bought at the start of 2026.

September is Sepsis Awareness Month

Sepsis can affect anyone, but due to the nature of the work and reluctance to seek medical attention, farmers and labourers can be at increased risk of infection.

Remember to clean, disinfect and cover any cuts to prevent infection and familiarise yourself with the signs of sepsis!

With Tupping Season on our doorstep it’s time to start checking the Ewes:

Andrew’s Dalesbreds had a simple once over this weekend -

‘Bag’s, BCS and a Bolus’

If they passed the first two checks they were given an All Guard 5in1 bolus to ensure mineral levels are adequate for maximum fertility at Tupping.

Blood sampling for minerals is a great way to utilise the AHWP Grant Follow ups and can help us advise you on the best bolus to use!

We have been exceptionally busy in these last couple of weeks and we would just like to remind our clients of our 24 hour notice on drug collections‼️
We require 24 hours notice for all drug collections, allowing time for prescription authorisation and preparation.
We may only prescribe medication for animals under our care and we must ensure that we have seen them, within the last 12 months.

If you require a repeat prescription, please telephone the office, stating the target species and intended use of the medication and giving a minimum of 24 hours notice. This applies for drugs to be collected from Bentham & Skipton.
Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
