This one has been a tough one to wrap our heads around. We’ve had the pleasure of treating Frank’s dogs for many years, and he will be very sadly missed 🤍

We are deeply saddened by the death of North Yorkshire hill farmer Frank Carr, aged 35.

Frank was a familiar face to Farmers Guardian readers and someone we were fortunate to work with many times over the years.

From sharing the realities of farming more than 2,000 acres in the Yorkshire Dales to supporting and taking part in our Next Generation Hill Farmers series, Frank was passionate about his family, his livestock and the future of hill farming.

We have looked back at some of the moments and words Frank shared with us, and the contribution he made to British farming.

He was a true friend of Farmers Guardian and will be greatly missed.

A little look at Arlo’s acupuncture journey 🐾

Arlo has been diagnosed with Spondylosis which is essentially spinal Arthritis as well as osteoarthritis in his shoulders, therefore has had quite a bit of muscle tension due to compensation. The visual changes in his coat is something we’ve been really pleased to see throughout the process of his treatment.

Coat changes can show areas of tension in the muscle and fascia, so can tell a story of what may be going on internally with your dogs body.

Acupuncture can be used as part of a wider approach in supporting pain management, mobility and overall wellbeing and comfort.

We’re excited to announce that from Monday 5th October, we’ll be welcoming Katie, a well-renowned veterinary surgeon, to Peak Canine Performance for our new Canine Acupuncture Clinic.

Let’s re-introduce Megan🐴🐶

Megan is our brilliant Veterinary Physiotherapist, holding a BSc (Hons) in Equine Therapy and Rehabilitation and a Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy.

She’s always wanted to share her knowledge to support both animals and their owners throughout their performance and rehabilitation journeys — helping every partnership reach its full potential.

Megan runs her own business, Pine Vet Physio, where she treats a mix of horses and dogs — from top racehorses on big equine yards in York to much-loved pets at home.

With a strong belief in science-based treatment, Megan is constantly expanding her knowledge and refining her skills to give every patient the best possible care.

At home, she has two lovely ponies, Misty & Dinky, as well as her energetic cocker spaniel, Mabel. And just like Megan, Mabel’s always on the go… clearly proving that dogs do take after their owners! 🐾✨
