⚠️ Graphic warning⚠️

Meet Jack! The happiest cat despite having a very badly fractured foot! Jack was recently in with us for his fractured metatarsals to be repaired. Pete the vet used his expertise in orthopaedic surgery to create an external fixator to help align his foot and allow it to heal properly.

⚠️Warning - there are some graphic pictures in this post! Please don’t swipe if you don’t like blood or surgical photos.

🐾 Stay tuned to see Jack’s progress!

💙 Meet our amazing Veterinary Nursing Team! 💙

The combined qualified experience between all our nurses is over 92 years, how amazing is that! 🐾

Did you know just how much our vet nurses do behind the scenes and beyond? 🩺🐶🐱

From caring for patients before, during and after surgery, performing nurse clinics and assisting with diagnostics, to providing dental care, running lab samples, nursing our patients back to health after illnesses, monitoring anaesthetics, supporting our patients in recovery, offering advice and support to clients and giving lots of extra cuddles along the way!
This isn't even the full list! Our nurses are involved in so many different aspects of veterinary care! 🩻🩹

Every day brings something different, and their knowledge, dedication, compassion and love for animals make such a huge difference to our patients and their owners. 🐾❤️

So meet our wonderful nursing team here at Dalehead, We are lucky to have them as such valued members of the team! ✨

🐾 World Arthritis Day 🦴💙

As it’s world arthritis day we thought we would help you with some of the signs to look out for with your furry friends. 🐶🐱

Arthritis is a common, painful condition in dogs and cats that, like humans, affects their joints and can make everyday activities difficult.

🔎 Signs to look out for:
🐾 Stiffness, especially after resting
🐾 Limping or difficulty walking
🐾 Reluctance to jump, climb stairs or play
🐾 Slowing down on walks
🐾 Changes in behaviour or grooming habits
🐾 Sleeping more or becoming less active

💙 The good news? Although arthritis can’t be cured, it can be managed! With early detection, appropriate pain relief, weight management and supportive care, we can help our pets stay comfortable and enjoy a better quality of life.

🐕🐈 Remember, slowing down isn’t always just a sign of getting older!
If you’ve noticed any changes in your pet’s mobility or behaviour, speak to your veterinary team.

🩺 We offer Senior Pet clinics with our nursing team.
These clinics are a great opportunity to identify early signs of arthritis and discuss ways to keep your pet happy, healthy and comfortable as they age.

🩺 Following on from World Vet Nurse Day we’d like to say a huge THANK YOU to our nursing team for everything you do for our clients, patients and our team.

💚 We are endlessly grateful to have such knowledgable, experienced, and compassionate nurses who treat every pet that comes through our doors as if they were their own.

📸 Keep an eye on our socials this month as we introduce our nursing team and shine a light on everything that they do (it is a lot!)
