***SKIPTON OPENING DATE - MONDAY 7th SEPTEMBER***
We're delighted to announce that the Skipton branch of our local independent vet practice will be welcoming pets from Monday 7th September.
Our team have been working hard behind the scenes to get everything ready and we're really excited about the great new facilities we've put in place.
We'll be aiming to deliver our award-winning standards of veterinary care at affordable prices.

Our opening hours at Skipton will be the same as our Settle practice:
Monday-Thursday 8.30am-6.30pm
Friday: 8.30am-5.30pm
Saturday 9am-12
Outside of these hours we can be contacted on the same number for emergency advice or appointments - delivered by our own vets and nurses at Settle for registered clients.

If you've not noticed our signs you can find us on Acorn Industrial Estate - opposite McDonalds and The Range. We've plenty of parking on-site and our postcode is BD23 2UE.

This weekend we'll be at Gargrave show. Come and have a chat and take the load off, we'll have refreshments ready.

Veterinary Surgeon – Companion Animal - Independent Practice
Role would suit a vet with experience

We are expanding our Award-Winning Companion Animal department with a new purpose-designed surgery in Skipton opening next month.
We’re looking for an experienced small animal vet (eligible to work in UK) to join our fantastic team at this exciting stage in our independent practice’s development.
If your priorities include - a healthy, respectful workplace culture, clinical freedom, collaborative teamwork, personal and professional development – then we’d love to hear from you and discuss our proposal for:
· 4-day week
· Shared OOH on-call provision across the full vet team (currently 1 in 8 )
· Competitive salary commensurate with experience.

· CPD allowance - professional development actively encouraged
· RCVS/VDS/Professional subscriptions
Our practice strives to be a great place to work, whilst continually seeking to improve our services – we work hard to support each other and incorporate EBVM into what we do. We were proud to be named RCVS Knowledge Champion in their 2026 awards and this year we hope to publish some of our practice-based anaesthetic safety findings in collaboration with researchers at University of Lancashire.
If you have specific clinical interests, we are well placed to help develop these - however if GP vetting is your focus then you may be interested in our participation in RCVS’ work towards creating a new GP-specialist status – watch this space!

We have had a little kitten handed in. He is grey and white, was found just near to our Settle surgery and has a black colour with a diamonte heart.

We are sure someone is missing him very much!

We are pleased to welcome veterinary surgeon Lara Clarkson MRCVS to the Dalehead team ahead of the opening of our new Skipton practice.

Lara graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2006 and holds General Practitioner Certificates in both Small Animal Medicine and Small Animal Surgery. She brings a wealth of experience and a friendly, caring approach to every consultation.

Outside work, Lara enjoys coaching at Craven Gymnastics Club as well as gardening, birdwatching, running and cycling. Please join us in giving Lara a warm Dalehead welcome!
