Hi all,

Just a little update that at the end of the year, we are very excited that we are expecting baby Smith No2!!

**Ps I MEANT 2026 😂**

I learnt the hard way the first time and carried on moving fences, poles and doing far too much when I was strictly told to stop 🤣 it was greatly regretted when they offered crutches at month 6, so if I could kindly ask for help in this area at the start/end of lessons that would be greatly appreciated and hopefully will lead to an easier recovery at the other side and a swift return. Updates will be given but I hope to definitely be back by the time the weather is kinder approaching spring and the competition season and hopefully exactly the same as before will continue working as close to due date as possible.

This little beauty comes around again.
Back in the day age 9 me and my fabulous little superstar pony Smartie at Birchinley Manor (yes near on 30 years ago 😬!).
I am sure a few of you must remember this great venue? What a shame we lost it.

Really appreciate the horses and ponies I’ve had over the years, each one teaching us something different and a supportive family and help along the way who’ve made it happen. My coach not long after this photo is still the one I turn to now! 🐴

Laminitis‼️

Don’t forget this is the best time of year for Laminitis to creep up on us.
As a starting point… Keeping an eye on your horses weight, does he have fat pads? Is the crest hard? Has he gone footy or is the movement starting to look a little restricted? Heat in the feet?
Prevention and acting quickly is easier than cure and lunging is a great way to see your horses movement from the ground and know what looks normal for him.

Here is Lady Belle busting her moves this morning on her weekly on the lunge check after a busy morning teaching for the Pony club.

**Very rare lesson availability**

Due to my little one getting a little older now I am potentially opening back up an extra coaching evening.
This is a breath of fresh air from me usually having to respond with
“I’m so sorry I’m full”
over the last ten years!

So whether you are already on our team or completely new to GLD Equestrian please drop me a message.

I have excellent coaching references, and I specialise in confidence building, in both rider mind frame and what’s going on under saddle.
I am extremely lucky to have a really wonderful bunch of clients that have meant I have never had to advertise.
Regular lesson spaces genuinely don’t come up often, I don’t go through a huge turnover of clients and I don’t want to, it is just as important to me that I am the right person for you as it is for you to find the right coach to get you on the path you’d like to be on.
As my current ‘victims’ will know It is a huge passion of mine to see progress.

INTRODUCING… THE NEW…

“Spring Show prep package”
(Includes show day tuition) -

Whether you are in need of a confidence boost? Ready to prep for your first show back or maybe you would just like a familiar face to help on the ground with warm up and getting ready on show day, taking the stress away and knowing that you are mentally and physically prepared from our specifically designed show prep training.
Perhaps things just aren’t working as well away from home as they are on home turf and we need a closer look.

This show package will be modified and discussed to meet individual needs.

As a rough plan it will include X4 tailored coaching sessions specifically designed to prepare for the chosen show.

All In all…
* Tailored coaching towards a chosen show
* Between coaching sessions a written plan of homework and things to be working on between
* To meet at the show and help on the ground to inc a lesson in the warm up and exercises for those pesky show nerves and the use of a collecting ring.

Please message me for full info and T&Cs, spaces will be incredibly limited with a small handful of riders at one time.

Thank you all so much for the Christmas wishes, cards and pressies I have been truley spoilt from you all and really am forever grateful.

Thank you all for showing up week after week, it is a pleasure to see you all progress and meet your goals - through the highs and lows of horses it is a honour to be a very small part in the journey.

Have a great Christmas all and I look forward to seeing what 2026 brings us all.

More clinic dates will be added in the New Year and open to all, however regular lesson availability remains to full at present, I do have a waiting list and very happy to add people on.
