When the weather is hot remember we are open from 6am right the way through until 9pm. Tall trees cast long shadows so the field is in partial shade from 6am to 10am and then again from about 6pm until 9pm. 🐾🐾

Just another job…
Debudding the tree trunks. We’re in the field most days checking it and making sure it remains a safe space. We check its clean, make sure the bins aren’t overflowing and check there is enough water.
The other thing I do is keep the buds off the tree trunks and prune the trees. We need the trunks to be clear of branches so we can mow upto them. It’s just something else we do that probably goes unseen.

We’re well into the swing of grass cutting now and the field looks amazing. Take a moment though to consider just how and why this is all there for you to safely walk your dogs. Well kept, well maintained and very clean. 3 acres with 6 foot fencing and no dig fencing around. Price wise about average for round here but consider this.
Not all fields are created equally. We applied for change of use planning permission that took 18 months to come through and our standard of fencing had to be just so. 18 months of no revenue but quite a considerable expense. Airlock gates, barriers under gates that open. No dig fencing. Again we couldn’t open until all of this was in place. Consider those fields that didn’t do this and just opened.
We are restricted with our opening hours and numbers of dogs we can have. We need to run our field so as not to cause a nuisance for our neighbours and locals of the village.
Some fields just bang up a fencing and open. No planning permission different standards. We’re fully insured, the amount of hoops we jump through every year just to renew is ridiculous but we do it year on year.
When you compare fields generally you do it based on what you see in the field and usually the cost but consider all the other things that go into providing a safe secure environment for walking your dog. Sometimes you’ll be comparing fish paste versus the finest smoked salmon and won’t even know.
