Many owners think that they can complete their own dogs rehabilitation or training programmes. Whilst you are more than capable of being a huge part of this plan this is why it’s so important to have the guidance of a qualified physiotherapist to help you!⬇️

One of my biggest roles to play in prescribing your dogs specific programme is being able to tell you *WHEN* and *HOW* to progress your exercises. This is to ensure your dogs is _safe_ and _successful_ in their outcomes! 🐕

A lot of thought goes into prescribing and progressing your dogs plans including:
-Sets
-Reps
-Frequency
-Duration
-Additional equipment
-Assistance Amount
-Technique
-Positioning

Poppy here is demonstrating beautifully her exercise plan advancing in difficulty!

✨Feline Physiotherapy✨

Not only do I welcome canine companions, but also all your feline friends too!🐱

FACT - Studies show that over 90% of cats age 12 years old show radiographic evidence of degenerative joint disease, particularly in the elbows, hips, stifles (knees), and spine‼️

This makes cats a species with a very high prevalence of osteoarthritis😿

Meet Alfie!🐈‍⬛

I have been treating Alfie for several years now to support his function and comfort in old age.

Just like dogs, cats also experience age related changes to:
-Joints.
-Muscle mass.
-Reduced tendon and ligament elasticity.

We focus on rehabilitative exercises in Alfie’s sessions to target these changes and keep his function quality and comfortable🙌

Connor the carriage driving horse relaxing after his physiotherapy session!🐴

Did you know that equine physiotherapy is also needed for carriage driving horses and not just ridden horses⁉️

How does Connor benefit from regular maintenance sessions 👇🏻
-Relieving muscular tension particularly through the pectorals (chest), thoracic sling (shoulders), and paraspinal (back) muscles where the harness sits and pulling effort comes from.
-Promoting better engagement of hindquarter muscles with strength and conditioning exercises to relieve the load from the forehand and improve driving efficiency.
-Keeping supple joints through the limbs and spine for better flexibility.

🟰Better performance, better comfort, better function!

Always thinking outside the box with our rehabilitation 💭

Or should I say thinking sideways 🤔

Bobby has been progressing really well so we have been adding in lots of lateral exercises to Bobby’s rehabilitation programme.

We have been stepping up the level with:
🐕 Sideways walking.
🐕 Side stepping over poles.
🐕 Side step ups and down.
