🌈Our Dear Boy George🌈

Almost 14 years ago my Nan turned up on our door step with George, who she had recently rehomed. George had just had his first haircut with a groomer and I can honestly say it was quite a sight. His head was actually triangular! I will never forget it! Nan asked me to help make him look a bit better with my hair dressing skills. From then on every few weeks I would go to Nans house and spend the day giving George a hair cut! Yes It took me all day!
After a few months I realised how much I enjoyed it so looked into grooming courses. Got accepted into bicton. Qualified. And opened The Barking Spa all with in 2 years.
If it hadn’t been for this wonderful boy I would never have found dog grooming. I will be forever grateful to him for showing me the way into a career I truly enjoy.

George, you will forever be missed! We will think back on all the memories regularly with smiles (and a few tears) Thank you for being a wonderful happy soul, for all you taught me and for being a wonderfully loyal best friend to Nan!

And just like that my little mole is off to nursery!

Time has flown!!

With both girls in nursery I am now able to up my open hours starting next week!

This week I am finishing early to be able to pick up my girls and also I am closed Saturday for Ophelia’s 4th birthday!

📣Dog Walkers, Sitters, Trainers, Physio, etc📣

I’m after business cards or small flyers from any dog related business that covers seaton and East Devon.

I need to up date my salon notice board for when my customers ask if I know of anyone. In particular Walkers and sitters.

It would be good to put a face to the business, but if I’m not there pop them in the letter box.

Keep your dogs at home in the cool!

As always if your dog is already panting and struggling in the heat give me a call and we will rearrange the appointment. I will not groom a dog that’s already struggling. It needs to be home in the cool and left alone. Not stood on a table with dryers and clippers going.

I will contact customers if the salon temperature becomes such that I decide it an unfit environment to have dogs in.

Update for existing customers:

Good evening all!

Firstly Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas too!

I can now update you all to let you know I will be officially returning to work the week commencing 2nd March.
Apologies for the slight delay but that is when we will have child care sorted for.
I will be working- Monday afternoons. Thursday Mornings. Friday and Saturday all day.

In the mean time I will be working most Thursdays to use up my keeping in touch days. Some of you are on a waiting list for January so you will get first priority of these and then they will be opened up to other customers.

If you could start getting in touch with when your dog is next due a groom and what days work for you, I will get back to you with appointments asap. I will be taking bookings for right up to 18th December so do let me know if you would like the usual “book for the year” too!

On return there will be a price increase to reflect the ever increasing bills. Please do ask if you would like to know your new price. As ever, i will do my best to keep increases to a minimum.

I will also be sending out a text to everyone this next week for those that aren’t on social media but if you are friends with any of my customers and can pass this information on that would also be brilliant.

I look forward to seeing you all soon!
