‼️‼️ PLEASE be mindful, whatever the temperament of your dog‼️‼️ this could have been horrendous if it wasn't me with Pyro!! Whatever field you use, ensure it's empty before ever entering with your dog, on or off a lead, it isn't just about your dog, it's about all dogs and their individual responses to stimulus. Even Pyros, as he continuously shows me, with dogs he wants zero conflict, he's a GREAT dog for displaying BIG calming signals, very obvious, I still advocated for my boy, called him straight in and had him behind me, bless him, he thought I was telling him off!! But this could have been a totally avoided situation, any problems re bookings at ANY secure field, please just call them so they can block it off for you so no one will be around or in the field.

It has finally happened... for a while now we have had people arrive early for sessions and enter the field, or without a booking at all. This afternoon, a member of staff who checks the field and poo picks for us has been walked in on by two not friendly dogs, the field wasn't booked, which is why the person was in there, they saw a car reverse down the track, shouted multiple times, but two dogs were let out the car with no leads on to sprint at the member of staff and their dog, luckily this person is dog savvy and no harm came to the member of staff and their dog, nor the person entering the field with their two dogs, BUT this could have been an EXTREMELY different outcome. Please for everyone's safety, NEVER ASSUME the field is empty, please ALWAYS check, please have your dogs on a lead before entering the field, please do not let your dogs run down the track off lead if you park at the end! Just because the gate is open doesn't mean no one is in there! We've now had so many close calls with people about to walk in with their dogs just before their booking time, we need to keep all dogs safe and people. If you arrive early (we can't plan for everything, we know this), please wait down the track to allow people to safely exit the field, rather than assuming because there is no car there the field is empty, gate/s open or not. If you are early, and don't believe anyone is in the field just give us a call so we can check no one is in there from site, and we will always grant you early access, or problems with bookings-PLEASE call us so we can block the time slot, but safety comes first, this was a VERY lucky situation with the dog in question in the field, as how the other dogs approached, with any other dog on site, it would have been a very different outcome 😢 please help us keep everyone and everyone's dogs safe.
