This darling lad has been such a good boy for his groom today. ❤️

He’s currently suffering with Cushing’s disease, a hormonal condition where the body produces too much cortisol. It can cause symptoms such as increased thirst and appetite, a pot-bellied appearance, muscle weakness, tiredness, thinning skin and hair loss. Dogs with Cushing’s can also have more delicate skin and coats, so a little extra care and patience during grooming is especially important.

He was an absolute sweetheart throughout his groom and took everything in his stride. 🐾✂️

🐾 Puppy’s First Groom 🐾

This little chap came in for his very first puppy groom today. ❤️

A puppy’s first groom is all about gentle introductions and helping them learn that grooming is nothing to worry about.

His visit included:
• 🛁 Introduction to having a bath
• 💨 Experiencing the hairdryer for the first time
• ✂️ Hair around his eyes gently tidied
• 🐾 Feet tidied
• 💅 Toenails trimmed
• ✨ Sanitary area tidied

Starting grooming early makes such a difference. Once your puppy has had their second vaccinations and is safe to mix with other dogs, it’s a great time to start introducing them to professional grooming.

The earlier they become familiar with the sights, sounds and sensations of grooming, the easier and more enjoyable it can be for them throughout their life. 🐶✂️
