📣 📣 HELP WITH CAT NEUTERING! 📣 📣
Did you know that we offer help with neutering cats for people in the local area who are either in receipt of some kind of benefit, or on a low income?
Neutering your cat is very important, both males and females, and not just because it prevents kittens being born. Neutering your cat also
🐾 Prevents life threatening complications from pregnancy and birth. Sadly every year we have to help cats who have got into difficulties in labour or after the kittens are born, and all too often despite extensive and expensive veterinary treatment the cats still don’t make it.
🐾 Helps stop the spread of feline viruses such as FIV and FeLV. Un-neutered tom cats are more likely to get into fights over territory and females and contract and spread these nasty viruses, which can also be passed to the females during mating.
🐾 Reduces injuries and life threatening infections from fighting. Every year we are called to help so many tom cats who have been severely injured in fights over females. These bite wounds can get so badly infected and can be fatal if not treated. The wounds also frequently attract flies and we have had to deal with fly strike in infected wounds so many times.
🐾 Reduces the risk of roaming. Un-neutered toms are more likely to roam off, often for days or weeks, even months at a time. Wandering like this puts them more at risk of being involved in a road accident, as well as puts their wellbeing at risk from poor nutrition whilst they are having to fend for themselves on their travels.
🐾 Reduces the likelihood of causing nuisance and problems with neighbourhood cats and neighbours! Almost every week we are contacted by someone who is struggling with an un-neutered cat in their area who is terrorising and injuring their own cats or causing a problem trying to get into their house for food, or spraying around their property which is very unpleasant. This is not only extremely unfair for the neighbourhood cats to be injured and frightened like this, but it also can get very expensive for the owners if the cat needs to see a vet. None of this makes the offending cats owners very popular in the neighbourhood!
🏥 The operation itself is a routine procedure that is carried out by vets every day. Your cat will be home from the vets the same day, and can recover from the anaesthetic at home (your vets will advise you on aftercare). Your cat will be feeling fit and well very soon after the procedure.

Our vouchers are accepted by most of the vets in our area, and they also cover the cost of a microchip too (microchipping is a legal requirement for all pet owners).
