As National Volunteers Week 2026 comes to an end, we want to send the biggest possible THANK YOU to the wonderful volunteer team here at Scropton Riding for the Disabled.

To our regular volunteers, our trustees, our younger Stable Club helpers, our event volunteers, our staff who give extra hours, and the families who support us — thank you, every one of you.

We simply couldn't run our centre without you, and everything you do helps make a real difference to the many participants who enjoy and benefit from time with our horses at Scropton.

We're running another ‘Have a go’ Showjumping sessions co-hosted by Helena Yates Equestrian Coaching & Care on Sunday 14th June.

This is a no-pressure, non-competitive confidence building session designed for anyone who’d like to gain more experience of show jumping in a friendly, relaxed environment. The session is open to adults & children, horses & ponies with classes from ground poles to 50cm.

Everyone is guaranteed a full round of show jumping and every rider will get a rosette!

Huge congratulations to our Team Scropton riders who took part in the North Midlands RDA Regional Dressage Competition yesterday.

Brilliant riding, fantastic horses, great team support - we had a really good day! Congratulations to Kyvan, Elizabeth, Matt, Mia, Jacquie, Paige, Teri, Holly and Chloe.

Elizabeth, Matt, Paige and Teri will now be going on to represent Team Scropton in Dressage at the National Championships!

Today we got to host the North Midlands RDA Regional Countryside Challenge Qualifier and what a fantastic day we've had! Great competition, great fun, great horses, great support!

Our Team Scropton riders did us proud - well done to Piper, Mia and Raidon-Kane who got great results , and to Anna, Meara, Cairenn and Molly who qualified to ride at the National Championships in July

We also got the results of the virtual show jumping qualifier today. Congrats to Mia, Cairenn, Connor, Paige, Matthew G and Noah who got some great scores, and to Meara, Chloe, Jessie-Mae, Kyvan, Holly and Matt D who qualified for the Championships. We're going to have a very busy weekend there this year!

Huge thanks go to all the volunteers from Scropton RDA and from the North Mids region who organised & ran the events, and our fantastic coaches & staff who helped the riders and horses perform at their best.

Last but not least - Scrappy, Duke, Charlie, Bella, Bob, Jess & Diesel - what stars our horses are!

2 weeks to go to the dressage qualifier so more competition fun to come....

🚑 Do you hold an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate
🚑 Are you free on Monday 18th May?
🚑 Would you like to support riders from RDA groups from across the region?

We're hosting an RDA Regional Competition on Monday 18th May for around 30 riders from RDA groups across our region. It'll be a lovely day, enabling riders of all abilities to compete and have fun. Unfortunately at short notice our first aider has pulled out so we need a first aider for the day.

We will have riding coaches on site with first aid qualifications to support you, but we need a dedicated first aider to be present throughout the competition. You'd need to be available from 10 am until about 3.00pm.

In return for your first aid skills we can offer you a fantastic day out at an inspirational event, lunch and as much tea or coffee as you can drink!!

There'll be plenty of pitches to browse and our coffee bar will be open for refreshments. This is an established regular, busy equine car boot sale.
Dont let poor weather put you off - if its raining the sale will be held in our indoor arena.

There's an entry fee of £3 per car for buyers so please try & bring the correct change with you.
