From reacting at 100 metres to calmly walking past other dogs.

Video 1 shows just how intense Shadow’s reactivity was. A dog around 100 metres away was enough to trigger barking, lunging and a reaction that continued long after the initial trigger.

Fast forward to her progress videos, and we’re seeing a very different dog — calm, composed and able to walk alongside and past other dogs without the same explosive reactions. 👏

This is what progress looks like. It doesn’t happen overnight, and it certainly doesn’t happen by accident. It takes consistency, the right training approach, patience and an owner willing to put the work in.

Huge credit to Shadow and her owner for the work they’ve put in together. The progress speaks for itself. ❤️🐾

Reactivity doesn’t have to define your dog.

Lexi’s transformation 🐾

Lexi’s owner came to us because she was struggling with anxiety and reactivity around other dogs.

The first video, filmed by me, shows just how difficult things were. Lexi becomes completely frozen and unable to move forward. Her owner has to turn her around, before Lexi reacts by lunging and barking at a dog passing on the opposite side of the street.

The second clip was filmed by Lexi’s owner that same day after a training session and shows the progress they’ve made already. Lexi walking confidently on a loose lead and calmly passing three dogs without reacting.

This is what we want to see: a dog that is more confident, able to stay engaged with their owner and make better choices in situations that previously caused them to struggle.

It’s not about expecting perfection overnight. It’s about building confidence, communication and control, one step at a time.

13 weeks old and 23kg. Charlie is already starting foundation puppy training.

This young Boerboel has a lot of growing to do and his owner understood just how important it is to start building the right foundations from the beginning.

At 13 weeks old
We’re building engagement, focus, communication, boundaries and confidence in a way that sets him up for success as he matures.

Starting early gives us the opportunity to shape behaviours before they become habits, particularly with a powerful breed like the Boerboel.

His owner made the right decision to invest in training early

6-MONTH-OLD MALE HUSKY AFTER ONE TRAINING SESSION

The first clip was filmed by the owner before training. Diesel is a 6-month-old male Husky he was pulling constantly and making walks difficult………Which will sound familiar to so many owners of this breed of dog.

After a training session the owner filmed the second clip in the exact same location with the same dog.

The difference is immediate after just one session.

Loose lead walking, staying by the owner’s side and, most importantly, engaging with his handler instead of constantly pulling ahead.

This isn’t a perfectly staged training environment. These are clips filmed by the owner during their normal walks, showing what can happen when the right techniques are applied consistently.

One session doesn’t magically train a dog for life, but it can give the owner the tools and understanding to start creating real change.

Small changes. Clear communication. Big difference.

Distance control 🐕‍🦺

Building distance control — is about progress, not rushing the exercise.

We start at a distance where the change of position is reliable, then gradually increase the space between us. If he falters, I don’t keep pushing and hope he gets it right. I simply take a few steps back, let him succeed, and then build the distance again.

That small reset is important. It reaffirms the exercise to the dog and builds his confidence.
The goal isn’t just more distance — it’s maintaining the same level of control and response as the distance increases.

The hardest part of dog training is knowing when to push forward and when to take a step back. 🐾🐕🐕‍🦺

🐾 Bailey — 12 years young! ❤️

Bailey is our retired working Cocker Spaniel.

“Find It” — using his nose to search for his ball and keeping his mind busy while having plenty of fun. 🎾👃

Enrichment like this is a fantastic way to give dogs old and young mental stimulation.

It’s not always about how far they run — sometimes the best exercise is simply letting them think, sniff and problem solve.

When Mali’s attack 🤣🤣🤣
Training doesn’t always go according to plan 🤦🏼‍♂️

Impulse Control 🐕💨

Mali’s are intelligent, driven and incredibly switched on — but that drive needs to be controlled and harnessed not constantly suppressed.

By working on impulse control, teaching the dog that calm, controlled behaviour is what gets rewarded.

The goal isn’t to destroy his drive and enthusiasm. It’s to teach him when to switch it on, when to switch it off, and how to think through excitement to make good choices

I might upload the blooper in a later clip 🤦🏼‍♂️
