Returning your dog to sports after injury??

Great read and explains why after your dog has been 'fixed' or signed off to return to normal activities and/or training they need a return to sports specific fitness programme. I offer this as part of as part of a return to sports programme once exercise rehabilitation programme has been completed.

Canine sports have become increasingly popular as more and more people choose to engage in sports activities with their dogs. At the same time, we continue to observe a division between “professional athletes” and “hobbyists” in some disciplines. Currently, we see national team competitors w...

The same applies to agility dogs, yes dogs need to be lean but not to the point where they do not have enough fuel to build and maintain muscle for the highly demanding sport we ask them to do.
Most active dogs need a good balance of fast and slow twitch fibres so aimong for the muscle bulk somewhere in the middle of these two physiques would be a good start

I am a witness and have a moral responsibility to advocate for your dog.
I understand the guilt/grief/fear/denial etc that you go through as I have experience with my dogs with chronic, degenerative conditions.
I can give you the tools and support to help your dog remain as strong and fit for as long as possible if you are willing to put the work in 🥰🤓😎

Another great weekend... I love doing these CPDs, love seeing the dogs improve over the mini practical sessions over the 2 days, love seeing the smiles on the owners/therapists faces and proud moments. Also cant miss out the 'penny dropping' moments and therapists excitedly sharing how they are going to apply their newly learnt skills into their practice. 🥳🥳🤩🤩🤓🤓😎😎🤯🤯

🥳🥳🥳Introducing the Motor Control Sequence 🥳🥳🥳

This may explain why it takes some time for your dog to master your rehab or fitness exercises.
It also supports the methodology I use of practicing good form and getting those bombproof neuromuscular pathway established before we start working on sets and reps or increasing the challenge of the exercise where the body starts to adapt. Quality over quantity. Once the dogs knows the task we than then more clearly identify the signs of fatigue.
