Sometimes a change in behaviour is a sign that something else is going on.
Aggie’s been having treatment for pain on and off for awhile now, but recently my vet and I decided that ongoing pain relief was the best option for her .
And the difference over the last few weeks has been lovely to see. She’s more sociable, she’s back cuddling up with me and Dolly in the evenings, and she’s enjoying her countryside walks again.
I know there are risks with long-term medication and will be keeping a close eye on her health. But for me, it’s about giving her the best quality of life possible .
It’s also a reminder that when a dog’s behaviour changes, pain is one of the things we should consider.
Have you ever noticed a change in your dogs behaviour that turned out to be health related?
