🌊🐦 Wildlife Friday — migration season is now in full swing across Cornwall! Early September is one of the best times of year for birdwatching along our coastline.

Keep an eye out for:
🦢 Waders gathering on the Tamar estuary
🐦 Swallows and house martins massing on wires before their long flight to Africa
🌾 Wheatears still passing through coastal habitats
🦅 Occasional ospreys continuing their journey south

At the same time, resident garden birds are starting to rely more heavily on feeders as natural food supplies dwindle. Now's the perfect time to pop in and see us to top up! 🌰

Let’s be honest, we’re ALL sick of getting soaked every time we leave the house… so why add a heavy bag of dog food to the struggle?! 🥩💪😂

Luckily, we’ve got FREE parking right outside the shop 🚗 AND we’ll even carry your purchases to your car for you!

So pull up, grab your pet’s favourites, stay as dry as possible (we can’t make any promises about the walk from your car to the front door 😜), and let us do the heavy lifting.

**Dogs especially** can find the sudden quiet very unsettling when children head back after a summer together. Signs to watch for: excessive barking, destructive behaviour, or refusing food. 🐕💛

Some things that help:
🎵 Leave the TV or radio on for company during the day
🐾 Introduce a consistent walk routine before term starts

🐾❤️ Monday Pet Tips — a special shoutout to the **senior pets** this week! Older dogs, cats, and small animals feel the heat more keenly than their younger counterparts.

For older dogs 🐕:
- Shorter, cooler walks — quality over distance every time
- Check medications with your vet (some can increase heat sensitivity)
- Provide orthopaedic or memory foam beds away from direct sun

For senior cats 🐱:
- Monitor appetite — heat can reduce hunger and mask weight loss
- Multiple water sources around the home (try a pet water fountain!)

For older small animals 🐰:
