A lovely productive day at the yard today ❤️
We started bright and early with an early morning lunge for Clifford, continuing his preparation ahead our Show next weekend. All horses then had a proper full groom before we continued with some more show practice with Clifford this afternoon.
Once the work was done, they both headed back out to enjoy the afternoon sunshine. ☀️
And little Tallulah is absolutely smashing her riding with Serena. 🥹 Their partnership is coming along beautifully and it's so lovely watching her confidence grow each time she's in the saddle.
A productive day of training, grooming and show preparation, finished with happy horses relaxing in the field.

A slightly different Friday at Wild Equestrian 🐴
Today I've actually had a very rare day off from yard duties! 😂
I did pop up briefly to try some of Clifford's show bits ahead of Frome next weekend and take a few photos for the saddler, but otherwise I've been able to step away from the yard for the day.
It was SO lovely popping in to see a spotless yard and happy horses with plenty of hay.
A huge thank you to my lovely freelance groom for taking such wonderful care of everyone today. Having experienced, trusted cover means I can step away from the yard when needed knowing the horses are happy and in safe hands.
And being able to step away from the day-to-day yard duties occasionally is actually a really important part of running Wild Equestrian. It gives me the time to continue my mobile Equine Sports & Rehabilitation Massage work alongside the yard — as well as keeping on top of all the less exciting bits that come with running a small business!
Paperwork, bookings, messages, accounts, admin, planning and all the behind-the-scenes office jobs that don't always make it onto social media… when you're a small business, there's usually only one person doing those too! 🙋‍♀️😂
Wild Equestrian will always remain a small, personal yard where quality of care comes first, and I'm really pleased to be building a little team around the yard as we continue to grow.
Although apparently popping up to try show bridles still counts as a “day off” when you run a horse yard

Short & long-term stays welcome.
Wild Equestrian is a small, quiet yard offering individual 1:1 care, with each horse's routine, exercise or rehabilitation programme tailored to their needs.
Schooling livery includes up to 5 exercise sessions per week, while our specialist stays can support schooling, conditioning, return-to-work, rehabilitation and box-rest cases.
Hay/haylage, basic feed, 2 bales of shavings per week & night checks included.

Sundays at Wild Equestrian 🐴

Everyone is tucked up for the night with full hay feeders, feeds and their new salt licks.
All the horses have been working nicely this weekend — apart from George, who decided to give himself an unplanned day off today by pulling a shoe 🤦‍♀️😂
We were hoping for one last ride before he heads off on Tuesday, so fingers crossed the farrier gets us sorted early eniugh tomorrow so we can squeeze one in.

A huge thank you as well to Essex Equine Transport for stepping in at short notice and arranging George's journey home for us on Tuesday. It's always lovely to connect with another local equestrian business and support one another. 🥰
If anyone in our area is looking I highly recommend you to check her out!

A very busy couple of days in coming with but I wouldn't have it any other way. Stay tuned for updates.

😂When I say life has been busy… I don't just mean at the yard! 😂

Between running Wild Equestrian, the horses, being Mum, being a wife and everything else that seems to fill the days… we've also been looking after these five beautiful little kittens, who turn 4 weeks old on Saturday! 🐱
They're getting bigger, braver and cheekier by the day and their little personalities are really starting to come out now, resembling Blue (mother's) attitude.
When they're old enough, they'll be looking for their new homes, and although I know we can't keep five kittens 😂, I already know they're going to be very missed when the time comes.

For now though, we're making the most of the kitten cuddles and watching these five little ones grow.
Safe to say Wild Equestrian has been slightly outnumbered by four-legged residents lately… just not all of them are horses 🐱

A lovely couple of days with plenty going on behind the scenes ☺️

Apparently the horse obsession officially runs in the family… 😂 Tallulah enjoyed another lovely ride and now Atlas has caught the riding bug too! Safe to say I think I'm going to have my hands full with these two.
Clifford has also been absolutely smashing his work recently. We've been mixing things up with plenty of variety, including some really lovely show practice ahead of his first outing. He's starting to understand exactly what's being asked of him and I'm so pleased with how he's progressing.
He also enjoyed some lunging yesterday and is really beginning to work from my voice, which is lovely to see. For a young horse, I think variety is so important — keeping their brains engaged, building confidence and giving them time to understand rather than rushing them.
We've also officially secured our tickets for the UK Small Business Awards, show clothes have been ordered ready for Clifford's first show, there's been LOTS of admin happening behind the scenes, and I've decided to take part in a charity event later this year for something incredibly close to my heart. More on that one soon. ❤️
It's been one of those weeks that reminds me just how much has happened in such a short space of time.
Horses, children, training, competing, running a yard and building Wild Equestrian one step at a time.
And somehow… I wouldn't have it any other way. 😂

Today was a really special day for Clifford and his owner as they had their first session together in the school! 🥰
They had such a lovely, positive session — walking, trotting, having a little play and, most importantly, learning each other. Watching this partnership start to blossom has been so lovely to see.
Clifford has genuinely been the loveliest pony to break in and ride away, and hearing his owner say several times today:
“Thank you so much, I see such a positive difference in him. He’s like a different pony.”
…made every bit of the hard work worth it. 🥹
Clifford still has another couple of weeks with me to continue his education and get plenty of practice in before his first show! After the show, he’ll head home to be reunited with his owners and continue his journey with them.

And of course, it wouldn't be a day at the yard without the kids getting involved 😂
Tallulah had a lovely ride on Serena, and even allowed her little brother to have a go! He absolutely loved it — in fact, when I got him off he was crying because he wanted more.
I think I may have accidentally planted the seed… 👀
A pony for him next?! 😂

The horses are having a well-deserved day off tomorrow and enjoying some time in the field. I'll still be at the yard morning and evening, but I'm giving myself a little half day off in between to spend some time with my family, catch up on the housework and recharge.
Especially as today was also mine and Jake's 3rd wedding anniversary 🥂

Busy days, happy horses, growing partnerships and a very full heart!
