🀯 I've been keeping a little secret over the weekend...

After announcing that Wild Equestrian had been shortlisted as a Finalist for Best Equestrian Business, followed by the incredible news that I had also been shortlisted for Female Entrepreneur of the Year, I honestly thought that was the end of the surprises.

Then another email arrived.

To be completely honest, I didn't post about it straight away.

I've spent the weekend re-reading the email, checking it was real & trying to get my head around what I was seeing because I genuinely couldn't believe it.

I thought there must have been some mistake. 🫣

But somehow, it's true...

Wild Equestrian has achieved a HAT-TRICK and is officially a FINALIST in THREE categories at the UK Small Business Awards 2026! πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†

✨ Best Equestrian Business

✨ Female Entrepreneur of the Year

✨ Best New Business

To be recognised once was incredible.

Twice felt surreal.

But three times? I honestly don't have the words.

Out of tens of thousands of businesses across the UK, Wild Equestrian has been shortlisted in three categories & I still don't think the reality of that has fully sunk in.

What started as a passion for horses has grown into something far bigger than I ever imagined. As a military spouse, mum of two & small business owner, there have been challenges, sacrifices, muddy boots, early mornings, late nights & plenty of moments where I've doubted myself along the way.

That's why this means so much.

Thank you to every client who has trusted me with their horses, every supporter who has followed my journey & everyone who has believed in Wild Equestrian.

I am incredibly proud, incredibly grateful & so excited to attend the Awards Night in December alongside so many amazing businesses from across the UK.

For now though, I think I'll keep re-reading the email a few more times just to make sure it's real! πŸ€£πŸ†

One very grateful (and still slightly shocked!) business owner. 🀍🐴

β˜€οΈ Heatwave Update β˜€οΈ

With temperatures forecast to reach the mid to high 30s this week, I will be monitoring the weather closely & may need to rearrange some sessions in the peak heat.

Whilst I never like moving appointments around, the welfare of the horses will always come first, alongside the safety & wellbeing of both clients & myself.

Working horses in extreme heat can increase the risk of dehydration, heat stress & fatigue. As a mobile service, I also travel to all of my clients, spending prolonged periods in the car travelling & working in these temperatures is not always safe or fair on either the horses or myself.

Any decisions made this week will be based on what is safest & fairest for the horses involved. If your session is affected, I will contact you as soon as possible to discuss alternative arrangements.

Thank you for your understanding & continued support. Responsible horsemanship means putting welfare first, even when it's inconvenient.

Please keep yourselves, your families and your horses cool this week. πŸ’›πŸ΄

This weekend I'll be taking some well-deserved time off to celebrate a very special time... Atlas turns ONE! πŸ₯ΉπŸ€
After a very busy few weeks with horses, clients, admin, award announcements & everything in between, I'm looking forward to switching off for a couple of days & spending quality time with family celebrating his birthday & Father's Day.
Messages may take a little longer than usual to respond to, but I'll be back from Monday ready for another busy week

Thank you all for your continued supportβ€”it means more than you know. 🐴🀍

🐴 Two horses. Two journeys. Two very special milestones. 🀍
Yesterday was one of those days that reminds me exactly why I love what I do.
Firstly, Clifford, the lovely New Forest gelding I've been working with, reached a huge milestone. After weeks of groundwork, long reining, confidence building & education, his owner sat on him & walked on her pony for the very first time! πŸ₯Ή
There were lots of smiles, happy tears & proud moments as all the hard work came together. Clifford took everything in his stride & was an absolute superstar. Seeing the joy on his owner's face made it even more special. 🀍
Then there is Toffee.
While her journey looks very different, her progress is just as exciting. When we first started working together, her instinct was often to move away from people & run. Yesterday she was choosing to walk over to me, responding beautifully to pressure and release work, & accepting more interaction & touch. Watching trust develop is something that can never be rushed, & every small step forward is worth celebrating. 🐴✨
These two horses are a perfect reminder that progress looks different for every horse.
Sometimes it's a first sit on.
Sometimes it's a horse choosing to approach you instead of walking away.
Both are huge achievements and I'm incredibly proud of them both. 🀍
Thank you to the owners who trust me to be part of their horses' journeys.
I need to invest in a tripod for my masssge clients as its hard to take vudoes when its just me there however I have had some lovely new clients theough the door who have taken to massaging so well & seeing them relaxed & comfortable really yawning and relaxed after each session is beautiful to see πŸ₯°

Well... I wasn't expecting to be sharing more award news so soon! πŸ₯ΉπŸ†

Just two days after announcing that Wild Equestrian had been shortlisted as a Finalist for Best Equestrian Business at the The UK Small Business Awards I've received another incredible email.

I am absolutely delighted to share that I have also been shortlisted as a Finalist for Female Entrepreneur of the Year 2026. 🀍

To be recognised in not one, but two categories from tens of thousands of businesses across the UK is something I never imagined when I first started Wild Equestrian.

As a military spouse, mum of two, & business owner, there have certainly been challenges along the way. This recognition means more than I can put into words & reminds me that all the hard work, determination &passion for helping horses has been worth it.

Thank you to every client, supporter, friend & family member who has been part of this journey especially my husbamd Jake who gas slotted into being the Equestrian husband very well. I truly couldn't do it without you.

❀️I saw this reel and instantly felt like it suited me here at Wild Equestian❀️...

(Not all of the videos are from today, but they capture exactly why I love my job)

No two days are ever the same & that's one of the things I love most about working with horses.

From riding / schooling, to groundwork sessions, long reining, confidence-building with youngsters, rehabilitation work & equine massage therapy, every horse teaches you something different.

There's nothing quite like seeing a horse gain confidence, understand a new exercise, or simply relax & enjoy a massage session.

Today's sessions were a perfect reminder of why I do this. One youngster showed huge improvements with steering, transitions and confidence during a groundwork session even going out solo. While another horse who initially preferred to avoid human interaction is now choosing to approach people willingly in just their third session. 🀍

These may seem like small milestones, but they're the foundations that build trust, confidence & lasting partnerships.

Every horse, every session & every achievement is different.
I feel incredibly lucky to be part of their journeys.

Thank you to all of my wonderful clients for trusting me with your horses. 🐴✨🫢

I am absolutely thrilled to announce that Wild Equestrian has been selected as a FINALIST The UK Small Business Awards
for:

πŸ† Best Equestrian Business – Representing Wiltshire

To be shortlisted from tens of thousands of businesses across the UK is something I never imagined when I started this journey.

Wild Equestrian was built from a genuine passion for horses and a commitment to putting their welfare first. Every rehabilitation programme, massage treatment, young horse education session, schooling programme and owner update is done with the horse's best interests at heart.

This year has already been incredibly special, with the launch of our dedicated rehabilitation & conditioning yard, becoming a sponsor of the New Forest Show, suppoeting a new riding ckub Saddle Up and Survive Riding Club & now receiving this recognition.

I am incredibly proud & grateful to have reached the finals for Best Equestrian Business.

Thank you to every client who has trusted me with their horses, every supporter who follows my journey, and my family who support me behind the scenes. None of this would be possible without you. πŸ’œ

Now I get to attend the awards ceremony! πŸ₯Ήβœ¨

Here's to continuing to help horses feel, move and perform at their best.

🐴 Why wait until your horse is uncomfortable?🐴

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is that horses only need massage therapy when there's a problem.

In reality, many horses benefit from regular maintenance treatments to help identify areas of tension before they develop into bigger issues.

The horse pictured is working in a long and low outline, encouraging engagement of the topline, abdominal muscles, hindquarters & supporting musculature throughout the body. When horses work correctly, they use a huge number of muscle groups that can become tired, tight or overworked over time.

Some signs your horse may be carrying tension include:

πŸ”Ή Stiffness through one rein
πŸ”Ή Difficulty bending
πŸ”Ή Reluctance to work into contact
πŸ”Ή Changes in behaviour when grooming or tacking up
πŸ”Ή Uneven muscle development
πŸ”Ή Reduced performance

Regular massage therapy can help to:

✨ Improve comfort
✨ Support flexibility
✨ Encourage relaxation
✨ Aid recovery
✨ Promote overall wellbeing

Every horse is an individual, which is why each treatment is tailored to their specific needs & requirements.

Looking after your horse's muscles today can help support their comfort, performance & wellbeing for tomorrow.

A busy day at Wild Equestrian today πŸ₯°

Today was one of those days that reminds me why I love what I do.
Our session with the new forest mare, focused on building trust through pressure & release. Working alongside her owner & young daughters, we took it at her pace & concentrated on helping her understand that being around people can be a positive experience.
By the end of the session, she was choosing to approach us and allowing gentle strokes – a huge milestone for a mare who has found human interaction challenging. These small steps are often the most rewarding, and it's wonderful to see her confidence beginning to grow. πŸ’•
Backing & Education Session
Our young New Forest pony client also had a fantastic session today. The biggest win of the day? He finally decided trotting was worth the effort! πŸ˜‚
We've been working on his education and confidence & today he showed us some lovely trot work & a much better understanding of what was being asked of him. Seeing these youngsters begin to put the pieces together is incredibly rewarding.
πŸ’†β€β™‚οΈ Equine Sports Massage
I also had a new massage client who was carrying a lot of tension through his shoulder area. After taking the time to work through the tightness, we were able to achieve a much softer, more relaxed response and improve comfort through the muscles. (You can see in the photo)
The rest of today's massage appointments were maintenance sessions, helping horses stay comfortable, supple and performing at their best. Unfortunately I got so engrossed in the sessions that I completely forgot to take any photos or content.
Every horse is different & every session has its own goals, but seeing confidence grow & horses feeling better in their bodies makes every day worthwhile.
Thank you to all my wonderful clients for trusting Wild Equestrian with your horses. 🀍

Still have some mobile cliwnr appointments left alongside very few spaces left at out home base.
