What a day we've had with this awful storm! 🌧️💨
But amongst all the wind and rain, I couldn't be prouder of our lovely Hermy today. Since he arrived, I've been taking everything at his pace, spending time building his confidence, gaining his trust and showing him that he has absolutely nothing to worry about.
Today was a HUGE milestone for us both. Our farrier came to visit, and knowing Hermy's previous difficulties with having his feet done, I wasn't entirely sure how he would react.
Well… HE WAS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! 🥹
No sedation. No drama. No fighting.
Just a relaxed, happy boy standing beautifully with his ears forward, enjoying his lick treat while having his feet attended to.
Even our farrier was impressed and is happy to shoe him next time! I genuinely cannot explain how happy and proud I am of the bond we're building.
Trust isn't something you can demand from a horse. It's something you earn through patience, consistency and understanding.
Hermy will always be allowed to learn and progress at his own pace, not mine.
All the horses have now had their feet attended to, and everyone was absolutely brilliant!
With the awful weather outside, they're all safely tucked up in their warm, cosy stables for the night. Days like today remind me exactly why I love what I do.
It's the little victories that mean the most.

What a lovely afternoon spent with some wonderful horses and their owners! 🥰
Three lovely horses to treat today, including the gorgeous Miss Perdi, who I had the privilege of treating a few months ago for her very first massage.
It was amazing to feel the difference in her today! From a youngster beginning her journey to a horse now in ridden work, developing muscle and strength. Seeing and feeling that progression is one of the many reasons I absolutely love what I do!
I also unexpectedly found myself working with a young horse who needs some guidance with his handling and everyday manners. A lovely youngster with so much potential, and I'm really looking forward to helping him and his owners build confidence, trust and establish those all-important foundations in the near future.
Whether it's helping horses feel their very best through massage, supporting their development or building confidence through groundwork, every horse is different, and that's what makes my job so rewarding.

I've been a little quieter on social media recently, but certainly not behind the scenes! 🤣
Between changing routines, endless rain, family life with two young children and a busy diary full of massages, groundwork and yard clients, finding time to take photos and post has been a challenge!
But we're still here, working hard and loving what we do! 🥰

My absolute left-hand lady! Donna consistently goes above and beyond, leaving the yard spotless and completing everything to an incredibly high standard.

We've been a little quiet on here over the past few days, but that certainly doesn't mean we've been quiet behind the scenes! 😂
Sometimes life gets busy! Between caring for the horses, running Wild Equestrian, being a mum of two little ones and everything else that comes with everyday life, I keep forgetting to take photos and videos.
But amongst all the everyday chaos, something rather special arrived...
My very own physical copy of Army&You Magazine featuring my article, “A Leap Into Wild Equestrianism”! 🥹
Seeing my story in print is such a proud moment. In the article, I share my journey, my lifelong passion for horses, life as a military wife and mum, and what inspired me to take the leap into running my own equestrian business.
Starting Wild Equestrian has certainly been a journey. Early mornings, long days, challenges, lessons and plenty of hard work, but also some truly wonderful horses, clients, opportunities and achievements.
And speaking of achievements...

🏆 Wild Equestrian is also a THREE-TIME FINALIST The UK Small Business Awards 2026! 🏆
To have my little business recognised in three categories, alongside so many other hardworking businesses, is something I'm incredibly proud of.

With the awards ceremony coming up in December, I'm feeling incredibly grateful for how far Wild Equestrian has come.

There will always be challenges when building something from the ground up, but moments like these remind me why I started.

A huge thank you to the Army Families Federation and Army & You for sharing my story, and to the UK Small Business Awards for recognising Wild Equestrian. ❤️

And of course, thank you to every client, horse owner, sponsored rider, friend and family member who continues to support this little business of mine.

🐴A LOVELY DAY AT WILD EQUESTRIAN! 🐴

Our newest little face, Hermy, had his very first lunging session with us today, sporting his new bridle and Happy Mouth bit!
And WOW… this boy has some seriously flashy paces! 😍 Walk, trot and canter, and he's certainly showing us some lovely movement! I have a feeling he's going to be rather comfortable to ride too!
We kept everything light and positive, allowing him to find his feet and build confidence. There's absolutely no rush with this gorgeous boy, but I'm genuinely so excited to see how he progresses over the coming months.
Clifford was an absolute superstar today! 🌟
Beautifully ridden by our wonderful Belle who will be keeping hiesee ticking over on my days off/ away so no package gets interupped. He enjoyed walk, trot AND canter independently in the school, alongside some polework!
After taking things steadily following his saddle adjustments, it's lovely to see this pony enjoying his ridden work, gaining confidence and, most importantly, having FUN! 🤍
Our little Queen Serena enjoyed some special time with Tallulah. Those two really do make my heart melt.
Alongside our own horses, we also had other clients ridden and some groundwork with another youngster. A lovely mixture of work and plenty of happy horses! 🐴
And to finish the day, we even had Jake and the children helping with afternoon yards! I'm always so grateful for the extra hands and support behind the scenes.
A busy, rewarding and very happy day at Wild Equestrian! 🤍
Days like today remind me exactly why I love what I do.
Here's to happy horses, building confidence, celebrating the little milestones and watching them progress!

🐴 A DAY OFF… WILD EQUESTRIAN STYLE! 🤣🐴

Well, I did say I was having a quieter day today… apparently I just can't stay away from the horses! 😂
A lovely morning spent at the yard, with a few exciting little milestones along the way.
CLIFFORD — HIS FIRST EVER CLIP! ✂️
The handsome Clifford had his very first clip today!
With him getting rather sweaty during work, I decided to give him a little partial clip, taking off just what was needed around his neck, chest and underneath.
He was initially a little unsure of the clippers, so I gave him time to get used to the noise and vibration. Within a minute, he'd relaxed and stood beautifully while I got on with it! 🥹
A lovely bath afterwards, and one very handsome boy!
I'm also absolutely delighted with his return to ridden work following his saddle adjustments. Having spotted those subtle changes early, we took a step back from riding, addressed the issue and maintained his groundwork.
Now he's back under saddle, happy and willing, and it's almost like he hasn't had any time off!
He was ridden independently this afternoon in the school, and he was really well behaved! 🥰
It's another reminder of why listening to our horses and recognising those small changes early is so important. ❤️
HERMY🤍 - Our gorgeous new four-year-old is finding his feet beautifully! Today we enjoyed a little walk around the yard, exploring different areas and allowing him to take everything in.
He's already showing us his lovely personality, including having a little play with whatever is in reach like his fly mask 🤣.
There's absolutely no rush with Hermy. These early days are all about settling in, building trust and getting to know one another.
I'm so excited for our journey together.
SERENA 🤍 — OUR little mascot Queen Serena enjoyed a lovely groom, plenty of fuss and a well-deserved day off. Sometimes a quiet day and a little TLC are exactly what's needed!
And a huge thank you to my wonderful freelance grooms, who cover the morning & afternoon yard duties. I always arrive to beautifully groomed horses, yard jobs completed and a spotless yard. It's so lovely having my two ladies part of the team who takes such pride in their work 🤍
After all that, I headed home, caught up on some housework and managed to squeeze in a few hours of much-needed relaxation before collecting the children.
My legs are definitely feeling Saturday's half marathon, so a little time with my feet up was very welcome!
So technically… I DID manage an afternoon off! 🤣
Just another day behind the scenes at Wild Equestrian, where every horse, every little milestone and every bit of progress matters 🐴

🐴🤍 A NEW FACE AT WILD EQUESTRIAN… MEET HERMY! 🤍🐴

Today we welcomed this absolutely gorgeous 4-year-old boy to Wild Equestrian! 🥹❤️
I'm incredibly grateful to have been given the opportunity and trusted with this handsome young man.
Hermy has settled in beautifully, made himself at home and already made a new best friend in Clifford — who apparently decided to show off his turbo mode in the field, i have NEVER seen that little pony fly 🤣
For now, it's all about allowing Hermy to settle, building trust, getting to know each other and taking everything at his own pace.
I'm so excited to see what the future holds for this special boy.

❤️ JUST 1 MORE DAY TO GO! 🏃‍♀️❤️

Tomorrow I'll be taking on my half marathon in support of SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society)

This is a charity that is incredibly close to my heart, and one that means more to me than words can explain.

Tomorrow isn't about getting the fastest time or crossing the finish line first. It's about putting one foot in front of the other, completing it and raising awareness and funds for a charity that supports families through unimaginable heartbreak. ❤️

Every single donation, no matter how big or small, would mean the absolute world to me. 🥹

🐴 A HUGE BREAKTHROUGH, HAPPY HORSES & EXCITING THINGS AHEAD!🐴

I will always advocate for the horses in my care, because they cannot speak for themselves and today was a perfect reminder of why!
After a little pause in Clifford's ridden work while we addressed his saddle fit, I'm absolutely delighted to say HE'S BACK UNDER SADDLE! 🙌
Having personally backed and started Clifford's education, I know him incredibly well. So when he started showing some very subtle signs that something wasn't quite right, I just knew.
Nothing dramatic, just those tiny changes in his behaviour that made me stop and think. Rather than dismissing them, we paused his ridden work and investigated. This is exactly why I choose to keep things small and personal here at Wild Equestrian.
I want to know every horse inside out — their personalities, quirks, movement and what's normal for them. Had those little signs been overlooked, continuing ridden work with an unsuitable saddle could have resulted in ongoing discomfort, compensatory movement patterns and a loss of confidence or trust.
Horse welfare will always come before a training schedule. Throughout his break, we continued consistent groundwork to help maintain his fitness and muscle.
And today, with his saddle correctly fitted and adjusted, it was finally time to get back to ridden work!
We initially planned to start with someone leaning over him after nearly three weeks off, but Clifford had other ideas! 😂 He was absolutely delighted to be back, walking and trotting beautifully, moving freely and confidently, even progressing off the lunge. Now it's time to continue his schooling, get back out hacking and work towards getting his lovely owner back in the saddle before he eventually heads home.
Meanwhile, Serena enjoyed a lovely lunging session and massage while Tallulah was at childminders, shes all ready for her tomorrow.
We've also been busy treating and riding client horses, with some exciting plans developing and a few new arrivals in the next coming weeks.
