🐾 EXCITING NEWS — SOMETHING NEW IS IN THE WORKS! 🐾

Have you ever thought about turning your love of dogs into a career? 🐶

At KD's Canine Services, we're exploring the idea of launching our very own Dog Trainer Academy! 🎓🐾

The idea is to offer an in-person course for people who are interested in becoming dog trainers but aren't sure where to start.

The course would cover both the theory and practical side of dog training and behaviour, including canine body language, learning theory, everyday training skills, understanding behaviour and what it's really like to work professionally with dogs.

Our aim is to help people build their knowledge, confidence and practical skills, with the possibility of a recruitment opportunity within our team for a suitable candidate at the end of the course.

📚 What we're considering:
🐾 In-person teaching and practical sessions
🐾 A structured course over several weeks
🐾 Learning from real-world experience
🐾 The opportunity to explore a future career working with dogs

BUT FIRST, WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! 👀

Before we take the next steps, we'd love to know whether this is something people would genuinely be interested in.

💬 Would you be interested in attending a course like this?

🐶 Have you ever considered becoming a dog trainer?

📩 If this sounds like something you'd love to do, please comment below or send us a message! We'd also love to hear what you'd want to learn.

This is currently an idea we're exploring, so dates, prices and course details are still to be confirmed.

We can't wait to hear what you think! ❤️

Doing some work with my own boy Bingo ❣️.

Bingo needs constant work on his impulse control and focus😅. Keeping it short and fun using games and tricks, is the best way to building his attention span and creating a positive experience with training.

Unfortunately, last week our lovely Eva walked her last walk with us and has moved on to her next adventure 🧹🧼🧽😂.

Eva has been part of the team since February 2025, back when we were still Bulford Dog Training! ❤️ She's been a much-loved and valued member of the team and has been with us through all the growth, changes and adventures along the way.

As we're only a small team, we spend a lot of time together and get to know each other pretty quickly, so it's never just a job. Eva and her family have become a part of our KDs Canine family, with her children even getting involved in helping with walks and running some of our obedience classes! 🐾❤️

We also want to say a huge thank you to all of our lovely customers who have got to know Eva, trusted her with their dogs and made her feel so welcome over the last year and a half. We know how much your dogs mean to you, and having someone you trust to care for them is so important.Thank you for always being so lovely and for being part of our journey as a business. ❤️🐶

We're going to miss having Eva as part of the team, but we're so excited for her as she starts this next chapter. We wish her all the very best on her new journey and hope this isn't the last we see of her! 🤞😀

You will be missed Eva Paterson ❤️🐾

We are back in the garage 😅.

After last months debacle with both my van and car being out of use, so far October has brought;

-1 staff car breaking down on the job (brand new car may I add),
-The van needing more emergency repairs
-And a new wing mirror replaced as someone had smashed it off whilst driving past at a speed

Hopefully this will be it! 🤞

We have had some comments recently about our prices being on the higher side. Part of the reasoning for this is its a business with multiple staff members meaning the business needs to earn commission to afford staff insurance and equipment. The other reasonings are not only do our vehicles go through ALOT of maintenance in a year, howevever some of the staff have to pay out almost £500 a month on fuel 😵. So what may seem like a lot of money, after taxes, national insurance, and all the other outgoings, our take home pay is still very minimal.

Lets hope the rest of the year is a bit kinder on us 🙏😀

Hi everyone,

As some of you already know, the van has been out of commission this month since breaking down multiple times so I have been using the family car for work. Unfortunately there was a crash in that car this weekend which has now caused our backup car to be out of commission until we can get it fixed. This does unfortunately mean we may struggle to get some walks booked in until at least one of our vehicles are back on the road hopefully sometime this week. The team are covering as many as possible however we will let you know day by day if walks need to be rescheduled or cancelled.

I am slowly starting to respond to messages tonight and booking in next weeks walks as quick as possible.
So sorry for the inconvienience.

Worth a share…………

🐶USE US. DON’T LOSE US.🐶

One thing we’d love more pet owners to understand during a heatwave is this.

When we cancel because of extreme temperatures, we’re not having a day off.

We’re losing income.

Most professional pet carers are self-employed. We don’t receive holiday pay, sick pay or a guaranteed salary at the end of the month. If we don’t work, we don’t get paid.

Every cancelled walk, training session or visit has a financial impact.

And this isn’t just one hot afternoon.

Many of us are now dealing with repeated heatwaves and some of the hottest, longest periods of extreme heat we’ve experienced in our working lives. Week after week, bookings are cancelled, diaries are rearranged and income falls, while our mortgages, rent, insurance, vehicle costs and business bills remain exactly the same.

Despite that, we’ll continue to make the same decision every time.

Because our first responsibility is the welfare of the animals in our care.

A postponed walk can be rearranged.

Heatstroke doesn’t always give your dog a second chance.

So, if your usual service isn’t safe, please don’t assume we can’t help.

Instead of cancelling altogether, ask whether your booking can be adapted.

That might mean:
• A home welfare visit
• Toilet breaks
• Feeding and companionship
• Garden enrichment and play
• Medication administration
• An early morning or late evening walk where conditions are safe

You’ll still receive professional care.

Your pet stays safe.

And you’ll be helping a local small business survive another week of extreme weather.

Use us. Don’t lose us.

The service may look different for a few days, but our commitment to your pet never changes.

Thank you to every client who understands that responsible pet care sometimes means changing the plan, not abandoning it.

🌞Day 5🐾- "The "Find It" Game

When it's too hot for long walks, give your dog's brain a workout instead!

Simply hide a few treats around your home or garden and encourage your dog to "find it" using their nose. Sniffing is a natural behaviour that provides excellent mental stimulation and can be surprisingly tiring.

Start with easy hiding spots and gradually make it more challenging as your dog gets the hang of it.

Comment below how your dog did with the Find It game and look out for our next enrichment tip 😁

🌞Days 3 & 4🐾

Unfortunately I missed yesterdays hot weather top tip as we were just trying to survive! I hope everyones been able to keep cool 🤞.

Day 3- Frozen enrichment bowl 🍓🐶

Freeze treats, toys, or dog safe fruits (blueberries, strawberries, bananas) in a bowl of water. Once completely frozen, slide it out of the bowl, pop in a shady spot in the garden and let your dog lick/ dig away the ice to get their rewards.
Always supervise your dogs when doing activities like this.

Day 4- Pool games 🐕💧

Did you know dogs can find and track a scent under the water?
Scatter treats in a shallow pool of water and let your dog fish them out. This activity is great for cooling your dog down as it encourages them into the water, however it is also a very enriching scent game and can keep them entertained for around 10-15 minutes.

My dogs currently dont want participate in my activities so enjoy a video of one of our lovely regulars enjoying his pool games!

🌞Day 2🐾- Enrichment boxes

If you've had an amazon delivery today, do not throw it away!
Pop a few bits of kibble or treats into the box, seal it back up and hand it over to your dog. The mental enrichment of trying to figure out how to get into the box, the ripping up, and sniffing, are all amazing ways of enriching and satisfying your dogs mentally. You can also add in empty toilet rolls or random pieces of cardboard to have a makeshift snuffle mat inside the box to add an extra layer of difficulty and fun.
Tip: If your dog seems to struggle or show little interest, poke a few holes in the box so they can really get that scent!

Comment below a picture of your dog with the enrichment boxes and keep a look out for our day 3 tip 😁
