👨🏻‍⚕️Surgical highlight: Ovariectomy👨🏻‍⚕️

Is your mare moody, aggressive or “stallion-like” when she’s in season? A It could be her ovaries.

An ovariectomy (removal of one or both ovaries) can help with:
✅ Ovarian tumours, such as granulosa-theca cell
tumours
✅ Hormone-driven behaviour problems
✅ Colic linked to ovulation or being in season
✅ Chronic pyometra/endometritis

At Endell we perform standing laparoscopic (“keyhole”) ovariectomy, the gold-standard approach. It needs just two small 2 cm incisions in the flank, a hospital stay of around 3 days, and most horses are back to work in about 2 weeks.
