“What happens to my pet after euthanasia has taken place?”
It's an important question.
For us, aftercare is not something we leave families to figure out at the hardest possible moment.
When a family contacts us, we aim to provide a seamless service from home euthanasia through to dignified collection and cremation, whether that is private cremation with ashes returned or companion cremation.
Delivering that properly depends on something many people never fully appreciate.
It depends on our crematoria partners.
Across the UK, many pet crematoria are small, family-run businesses, often built by people who felt there had to be a more compassionate way.
It is demanding work.
Many offer 24/7, 365 days a year care, meaning phones are left on overnight, families can call in distress at any hour, holidays are difficult, and social plans often come second.
And still, again and again, they turn up with care, dignity and compassion.
So when we work with a crematorium partner, one of the most important things we can do for them is respect their time.
For us, that means practical things to support our cremation partners:
✅We respond quickly - When a crematorium contacts us with a family needing same-day support, we aim to secure a vet within 20 minutes of the call during our normal operating hours. For future appointments, we move quickly to confirm the right time and make sure everyone is clear on the plan.
✅We fully triage the appointment - We do the work upfront so the family, vet and crematorium all have the information they need.
✅We provide clear appointment details - Time, address, access notes, parking, family preferences and anything else that helps the visit run smoothly.
✅We keep everyone updated - If a vet is delayed, the family knows. The crematorium knows. Nobody is left guessing.
✅We notify partners when the vet has left - That small detail matters. It means the crematorium can collect discreetly and promptly, rather than sitting nearby, unsure whether the appointment is still ongoing.
✅We focus on becoming their partner of choice - At first, we thought exclusive relationships were the goal. What we have learned is that trust is far more powerful. If we communicate well, find vets quickly, treat families beautifully and respect our cremation partners’ time, we become the people they want to call.
That is the standard we are building.
To every crematorium already working with us, thank you.
You do emotionally demanding work, often without the recognition you deserve. We see the care you give, and we are grateful to stand alongside you.
And to any pet crematorium in the UK looking for a trusted home euthanasia partner who will communicate clearly, act quickly and respect the work you do, we would love to start a conversation.
Because families deserve joined-up care.
Pets deserve dignity.
And the people delivering that care deserve to have their time respected.
