🚗 Parking update

We have three designated parking spaces directly outside It’s A Dog’s Life. We’re now using cones to keep these spaces available for our customers when you arrive for your session.

The cones will be moved before your appointment, but if you arrive a little early and they’re still in place, Wendy will be happy to move them for you.

And this is why I love scent work for dogs! 🐾

A study by Andrews et al (2022) found that a dog's olfactory system has a direct olfactory-occipital tract (aka, nose to visual brain). Why is this important?

🔹This was the first documentation of a direct connection between the olfactory bulb and occipital lobe in ANY species!
🔹 It may help explain why blind dogs often get around remarkably well

What this means, is our dogs could be mapping the world via smell AND sight, meaning our dogs could quite literally be 'seeing' with their nose.

🐾 NEW DOG PLAY MEETS – NOW LIVE!

Following on from my post earlier this week asking what play sessions you’d like to see, I’ve now added our first round of midweek breed and size-based meets, with more to follow!

These are initially trial sessions to see how much interest there is. If there’s enough demand, I’ll look at introducing regular weekly sessions.

Labrador & Retriever owners! We also have a meet on Saturday 31st October at 3:15pm, as well as the new midweek session.

☕ Hot drinks, biscuits and pup cups are included!

A few things to know:

* These sessions are for dogs who already enjoy off-lead play with other dogs.
* A minimum of 2 dogs is needed for a session to run.
* If minimum numbers aren’t reached, the session will be cancelled and a full refund issued.

How to book: Head to our booking page, choose your preferred meet and click Next Availability to find the date.

Both workshops are available to book online! And if you own an XL Bully, the choice is yours – you’re welcome to join either workshop.
