Sometimes old toys just need a little refresh! ✨

We gave Jingles’ toy a quick spray with some catnip today and suddenly it was the BEST. TOY. EVER. 😂 She’s had a brilliant time playing with it!

If your cat’s toy box is full of things they’ve completely lost interest in, try giving their old favourites a little catnip refresh before buying new ones. You might be surprised how quickly they become exciting again! 😻

Scientists believe it’s because:
🎯 They’re excited by the hunt.
💪 They’re practising the bite they’d use in the wild.
😹 Or they’re simply frustrated they can’t catch the bird!

Whatever the reason, it’s completely normal, and very entertaining to watch!

Going away and wondering who’s going to look after your hamster, guinea pig, rabbit or other small furry family member? 💕

Alongside our cat visits, we also offer holiday pet visits for small animals in St Helens & Rainhill.

We can pop in to feed them, refresh water, check they’re happy and comfortable, clean up where needed and give them some attention while you’re away. 🥰

Ever watched your cat sprint around the house at top speed for absolutely no reason? 😹

Those “zoomies” are usually a way of:
⚡ Burning off energy.
🎯 Practising hunting instincts.
😸 Having a bit of fun!

They’re especially common after naps or in the early morning and evening when cats are naturally most active.

A cat’s nose print is unique…

Just like a human fingerprint!

No two cats have exactly the same little nose. 🥹🐾

They’re rough…
They’re sandpaper-like…
And somehow they’re still adorable. ❤️

A cat’s tongue is covered in tiny backwards-facing hooks called papillae, which help them:

🐱 Keep their fur beautifully clean
🐱 Remove loose hair and dirt
🐱 Strip meat from bones in the wild
🐱 Lap up water more efficiently

And then, every now and again…

One of our favourite parts of every visit is sending you photos of your cat.

We know how much you miss them while you’re away, and nothing beats opening your phone to see them happy, relaxed and enjoying their normal routine.

👀 Where’s the strangest place you’ve ever found your cat?

We’ve known cats to hide…

🧺 In the laundry basket.
🎄 Halfway up the Christmas tree.
🛁 Behind the bath panel.
👟 Inside a wardrobe.
📦 In an empty suitcase.

Cats are basically furry ninjas. 🥷🐱

Paddy, my Bengal, used to have me worried sick. Sometimes he was in the laundry basket, once he was in a box of whistles being packed for Amazon!

Sometimes he was tucked up like a baby in my little girls doll cot 🤣🫣

Oh and not forgetting the Christmas Tree bag before it was zipped up to go up in the loft for another year 😱 I miss that crazy cat 🌈

🐾 Why do cats knead with their paws?

Those little “making biscuits” movements aren’t just cute!

Cats knead because:
💜 It reminds them of being kittens feeding from their mum.
😌 It helps them relax and feel safe.
🏡 They’re marking you with scent glands in their paws.
❤️ It’s their way of saying, “I feel comfortable here.”

So next time your cat starts making biscuits on your blanket (or your legs! 😹), take it as a compliment, they’re feeling happy and content.
