Three seals & a boat 🦭 🦭🦭⛵️

That was the standard reply in our house if anyone ever asked “what’s on the telly?”

I was reminded of this earlier in the week by Penel from The Lobster, Norfolk

Growing up back in the 70’s & 80’s when TVs were huge, and I mean in depth, not screen size, we had 3 small seal ornaments and a dodgy wooden sail boat with broken rigging that just collected dust, perched on top of the telly.

They were there for years.

If anyone asked what was on the telly, that’s what we all said.

I still say it now, so much so that even my friends say it.

As tvs got smaller (thinner) and tastes changed, the three seals and a boat got put away in a drawer.

10 years ago clearing my dad’s house I came across the seals. They are now somewhere in my house. Not pretty but I couldn’t quite bring myself to throw them away.

I think the boat had some sort of incident and was never seen again.

So thank you Penel for reminding me of this fond childhood memory.

Dogs on logs

Would you like to see some logs (and a bridge) I was made to stand on whilst on holiday?

I am not sure what the fascination is with making me stand on a log but she seems to get a huge amount of pleasure out of it and I get a sossidge so I just comply and get the whole thing over and done with and the sossidges come quicker.

Today I stole a whole half of a frittata.

It was bloody delicious.

It wasn’t a complete one and it wasn’t a fresh one out the oven like Krumble did but it was my first attempt and I am still learning.

The human was emptying the car after being at friends for lunch and left the afore mentioned frittata (did I mention it was delicious) unattended on the bench while she carried some other stuff into the house.

Distracted by needing a wee (she says it’s a diabetic thing but we all know it’s an age thing), and then she completely forgot about it so I took it upon myself to have a nice leisurely dining experience.

TBH, too many veggies in there for my liking if the truth be told, more eggs and cheese needed but not bad for my first attempt.

If you need me I’ll be relaxing with my big belly on the sofa. 💨
