Greenside Veterinary Practice Greenside Veterinary Practice is part of Linnaeus Veterinary Ltd (A Mars Company).

Our small animal clinics provide a professional, friendly and personal service in modern, superbly equipped premises. Our vets provide a comprehensive range of medical and surgical treatments especially our newly added Stem Cell Therapy. To assist in prompt and accurate diagnosis our clinic is equipped with a laboratory, digital x-ray, ECG, ultrasound and endoscopy.

One practice. Three sites. One team. 🐾
Following the success of our combined out-of-hours service, Greenside and Hawick Vets are now continuing to work together as one practice across three sites — St Boswells, Jedburgh and Hawick.
What does this mean for you?
📞 Greenside St Boswells is now our main phone hub, so when you call either of the practice numbers, our client care team will help direct you to the right place or person.
📍 You can still contact and visit whichever site is most convenient for you during office hours — just let us know your preferred site when booking.
💊 And if you’re collecting medication or food, simply tell us which site you’d like to collect from. Please note that Hawick closes daily from 1-2pm
By working together, we can share our team’s knowledge, skills and facilities across all three sites, giving you more flexibility.
If you have any questions about our new way of working, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team leaders. Morven leads our farm animal services, while Sarah and Jenny are here to support our companion animal teams. Gillian leads our nursing team, with Jolene and Michelle as our Practice Managers and Sasha leading our client care team.

September is Vaccine Amnesty Month at Greenside St Boswell’s, and throughout September, pets whose vaccinations have lapsed can restart their vaccination course for the price of an annual booster.

💉 That means 2 vaccinations, 4 weeks apart — for the price of 1 annual booster!

🚨Farmer Bluetongue Update🚨

Defra has confirmed 334 cases of BTV-3 so far (as of August 10th) in the 26/27 bluetongue season across the UK. There is currently one confirmed case in Scotland. Restrictions remain in place for moving animals to Scotland from restricted zones. The ongoing warm weather has played a key role in increasing the rate of infection and the severity of symptoms seen

🦟Bluetongue is spread by midges, and with the hot weather, the replication rate of the virus has been sped up

🩺Clinical signs to watch out for include:
- Crusting of nose, muzzle
- ⁠Swollen face
- ⁠Drooling, mouth ulcers
- ⁠Lameness
- ⁠Discharge from nose or eyes
- ⁠Fever
- ⁠Lethargy

📞If you suspect bluetongue in your herd or flock, please get in touch as soon as possible

💉Vaccination remains the best option to protect your livestock. As demand is high for the vaccine at present, we are awaiting more supplies to come into the wholesalers
We are currently taking orders for vaccines, and the sooner we have an idea of demand, the sooner we can get it in stock. Please contact the practice to be added to the waitlist
We will also be offering vaccine sharing days, where we will split bottles into single doses available for purchase - please let us know if you would like to avail of this service
