We have been overseas for almost 5 months pet and house sitting... on Saturday we fly back to Canada.

We feel so lucky to have been able to:
🐱 Love 10 cats, 7 dogs, 2 chickens and 1 parrot
🏡 Live in 8 beautiful homes in England
🏡 Live in 1 home in Portugal
🤍 Meet up with old friends
✨ Meet many new friends
📍 Visit favourite places again
📍 Visit new places that are now favourites
💼 Attend a business conference
🎭 Attend theatre performances - one so bad we left at intermission and one literally on a cliff
🏖 Walk the most beautiful beaches
🍽 Experience a traditional Portuguese Christmas meal
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Hubby got to spend 3 weeks in his hometown

And so much more…

The thing about travel is that it strips life back to what matters ✨

You carry less 🧳
You need less 🙌
You notice more 👀

You realize how little you actually need to feel rich.
🩷 Connection
💗 Kindness
🍲 Good food
🏡 Safe places to land
💻 Work you can do from anywhere
⏳ Time together

It reminds you that life doesn’t need to look a certain way to feel good.
It just needs to feel right.

This season hasn’t been perfect.
Some days were messy.
Some plans changed.
Some things didn’t work out.

And still - it worked.

Because we said yes.
Because we trusted ourselves.
Because we were willing to mess it up.

We are heading back to Canada at the end of January.

Our sweet roomies for the next 3 weeks in Hubby's hometown, Tenterden, Kent, England.

Although we are out in the country, we are only a 5 minute walk to the high street. They have a swimming pool, sadly closed for the winter, a tennis court, and so much open space with beautiful tree's and flowers.

We spent 5 months over the winter hanging out with Marshmallow (although we call him Marshy) in Edmonton.

We have missed him so much since we left in April.

A couple weeks ago we got to go visit him and his dad. He was happy to see us and even let me snuggle him. 😻

When we arrived at this sit and the pet parents were showing us around, they told us that the dogs sleep in the bedroom ...

When we arrived at this sit and the pet parents were showing us around, they told us that the dogs sleep in the bedroom with them.

However, when they are left with sitters, they will only sleep by the garage door.

I don't think Ari got that memo 😂
And Elsa, she is on the other side of me, on the floor as she can't get up on the bed. 🤣
