Today we remember three beautiful girls whose lives were filled with love, companionship and countless memories. Although their paws are no longer by your side, the little things they left behind — their personalities, their quirks and all those precious moments — remain forever in the hearts of those who loved them.

🐴 Our Equine Facilities 🐴

At Whitley Brook, we understand how difficult it can be to say goodbye to a much-loved horse. That’s why our dedicated equine aftercare service is here to make the process as simple and stress-free as possible. 🤍

We offer individual and communal cremation services for horses, with collections available directly from farms, fields and stables.

All you need to do is give us a call and speak to one of our Aftercare Advisors. They can talk you through the options available, answer any questions you may have and provide information about our prices. From there, we’ll take care of the rest.

Whether you would like us to bring your beloved horse back home to you, or you would prefer to collect them from Whitley Brook, the choice is completely yours. 🤍🐴

🌈🐾 Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day 🐾🌈

Today, we take a moment to remember the beloved pets who may no longer be by our side, but whose paw prints remain forever in our hearts. ❤️

Every wag, every purr, every little habit and every precious memory is a reminder of the love they brought into our lives. Though their time with us may have been far too short, the love we shared never disappears.

Over the past couple of weeks, our team have been putting lots of love and care into creating something special for today, bringing together the memories of the pets who have touched so many lives. 🌈🐾

From our Remembrance Wall to our Remembrance Bench, we hope these spaces offer somewhere to pause, reflect and remember those who will always hold a special place in our hearts. ❤️

Today is a day to celebrate their lives, their personalities and all the memories that will always make us smile.

To every pet who has crossed the Rainbow Bridge — you are loved, you are remembered, and you will never be forgotten. 🌈🐾❤️

🐾❤️ INTERNATIONAL DOG DAY | 26TH AUGUST ❤️🐾

Today is all about celebrating the dogs who make our lives brighter, our homes noisier, our clothes hairier and our hearts so much fuller. 🐶❤️

Whether they’re the tiny ones who think they’re ten times their size, the big ones who still believe they’re lap dogs, the working dogs who dedicate their lives to helping others, or the rescue dogs waiting patiently for their forever home — every dog deserves to be celebrated.

Dogs have been living alongside humans for thousands of years, and today they are so much more than companions. They can be guide dogs, assistance dogs, search and rescue dogs, police and military dogs, therapy dogs and even trained to detect certain illnesses. But perhaps their most important job is simply being there for us. 🐾

Dogs are incredibly social animals and can form strong bonds with the people they love. They communicate with us through their body language, faces, sounds and even their scent — and somehow, they always seem to know when we need a cuddle. ❤️

A few fun facts for International Dog Day:

🐕 Dogs have an incredible sense of smell that is far more developed than ours.

👂 They can hear sounds at frequencies humans can’t, including ultrasound.

🧠 Some dogs can learn the names of hundreds of different objects — one famous Border Collie called Rico was able to recognise around 200 toys.

🏡 Dogs come in every shape, size, colour and personality — and every single one has their own unique character.

❤️ National Dog Day was founded in 2004 by animal advocate Colleen Paige. 26th August was chosen because it was the date her family adopted her first dog, a Sheltie, when she was 10 years old. The day was created not only to celebrate dogs, but also to raise awareness of dogs needing homes and recognise the incredible work dogs do for people.

So today, give your dog that extra treat. Take the longer walk. Buy the toy they absolutely don’t need. Let them have the best spot on the sofa. And, most importantly, give them an extra cuddle.

Because to us, they’re only here for part of our lives…

but to them, we’re their whole world. ❤️🐾

🐾 A Small Act of Kindness Can Make a Big Difference 🐾

At Whitley Brook Pet Crematorium, we understand just how special the bond between a pet and their family is. We also know how difficult it can be to part with the belongings of a much-loved companion. A favourite blanket, a well-loved bed, a treasured toy, or a familiar lead can hold so many precious memories.

For many families, donating these items can be a meaningful alternative to throwing them away, allowing them to continue bringing comfort, happiness and companionship to other animals in need.

As part of our commitment to supporting animal welfare, we are proud to be collecting donations on behalf of Dogs Trust. Many items that brought comfort and joy to a beloved pet can go on to help dogs awaiting their forever homes, creating a lasting legacy of love and kindness.

Whether you are visiting us directly or simply wish to support this cause, everyone is welcome to drop donations off at our premises. You do not need to have used our services to donate.

We are happy to accept:

🐾 Pet beds
🐾 Blankets and towels
🐾 Toys
🐾 Leads, collars and harnesses
🐾 Unopened pet food and treats (in date)

For families visiting Whitley Brook, this can be a thoughtful way to honour the memory of a cherished companion, knowing their belongings may help provide comfort and reassurance to another dog in need.

To ensure all donations are ready for their new homes, all suitable bedding, blankets and fabric items will be thoroughly washed by our team before being delivered to Dogs Trust.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference. We are honoured to help connect our local community with such a worthwhile cause and sincerely thank everyone who chooses to donate.

🌈 Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day – 28th August 🌈

On 28th August, we will be taking a moment to remember all of the beloved pets who may no longer be by our side, but who will always have a place in our hearts. 🐾❤️

This year, we are creating two special ways for you to remember your pets with us.

🪻 Our Memorial Bench 🪻
We are creating a beautiful memorial bench where we will have plaques dedicated to the pets who have touched the lives of their families. If you would like your pet’s name included on the bench, simply comment below or send us a private message and we will make sure they are remembered.

🌈 Our Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Wall 🌈
We would also love to fill a remembrance wall with photographs of the pets who are no longer with us. If you have a favourite photograph of your beloved pet that you would like us to include, send it to us by private message or comment below and we will add them to our wall of remembrance.

You can send us their name and photograph, and if you would like to, you can also share a little message or memory about them. ❤️

Whether they passed recently or many years ago, whether they had four legs, feathers, fins or paws — every pet deserves to be remembered.

Because although they may no longer be waiting for us when we come through the door, their place in our lives never disappears. 🌈🐾
