You know me I just love a handstrip cocker spaniel, I was back in my happy place working on Ted this absolutely beautiful Black and Tan show Cocker spaniel, he’s been patiently waiting until he was 10 months old before we can start work on his coat. That gives his adult coat the right amount of time to mature underneath so we can unveil that lovely smooth silk under coat.

Big thank you to Teds owners for being so patient waiting 10 months of him being a big fluff ball and keeping his coat in lovely condition for me to work on 🖤 dream clients!

PAYMENTS
Guys, just a quick reminder can everyone ensure that your dogs groom is paid for on collection.
I can’t keep chasing up payments and/or waiting around for transfers to be sent over after you’ve picked the dog up and left the salon.

When I use a service e.g hairdresser, dentist, nail appointment, car wash, Asda shop, restaurant etc the bill is paid for there and then. I simply wouldn’t be allowed to leave without paying up first.

*ALL missed appointments must be paid for IN FULL, without 48 hours notice I can’t fill the appointment so therefore you will be charged for the missed slot.

Please don’t take advantage of my small business and kind nature 🙏🏻

This is baby Cloud the teacup Pomeranian puppy who is a regular visitor and loves his bath and fluff ups here at vf 🤍 we deep clean and condition his blonde locks and brush and comb and brush and comb and comb and brush and… You get my groove.
His owner loves his full natural coat so the snow ball look is what we aim for, a little paw trim, nail clip, ear clean and sanitary tidy is what’s included in Clouds sessions ☁️

And with that, another year of Vanity Furr is complete 🥂 after working through an extremely busy month of pre-Christmas pampers we’ve now closed up for Christmas.
A humongous thank you to each and every person that has visited my salon this year, to all the ones who attended appointment after appointment on your regular schedules just to keep your dogs clean and looking their best. You make time and space in your busy lives to come to me to provide you with a service and my craft that I am so in love with more and more every day.
I will never be able to put into words how much this small business means to me and how amazed and proud I am of it and where we’ve got it to, but I’m only as good as the people I have around me and that includes all the incredible clients I have. I’m certain I have the best customers about, you all bring me so much happiness each day and treat me with such kindness it blows me away. Some of you have become some of my closest friends and I feel like we’re family. It’s amazing to be able to create such close bonds and we hang out and chat and do things outside of work it’s just so special. I know there’s some of you who have really been there for me this year, you’ve been really supportive and have given me some of the best advice and comfort myself and my family have needed.

I have clients that still come to see me even though their dogs have passed away years prior, they still visit me and they see me for a catch up and chats and we remain a constant in each others lives due to the bond and friendship we created.
Vanity Furr will be turning 13 years old next year, it’s hard to believe I was just 19 years of age when I started all this, you’ve seen me grow up and build this business up beyond my dreams.
Sadly being open this amount of time means we’ve sadly lost some beautiful dogs this year due to old age and it’s been heartbreaking. I’ll be thinking of you all whose little dogs won’t be with you this Christmas, my heart goes out to you all.

Christmas is a special time of year but I know it can be tough for many, but please don’t ever feel alone or struggle, I’m always here for anyone who needs me. 💫
I hope you all have a very lovely Christmas, and I hope 2026 brings you all lots of love, health and happiness. Stay safe everyone and give your dogs the biggest squish and kiss from me ❤️

Extra big thank you to Ellie, who without her the salon wouldn’t be the same. She does so well to keep up with me and the pace and standards that I set, she works so hard and does it without complaint (well, not many) 😉😄
And thank you to my mum (who you all treat with such kindness, take her out for coffees and lunches and pop in and sit and have cups of tea with her and our poodle Nina 😂)
My mum’s been looking after my dogs from 6am until 8pm, 7 days a week for the whole of December whilst I’ve been so busy in the salon. She’s the best mum in the world and my biggest fan ❤️

The salon is now closed until Tuesday 6th Jan, I can’t wait to see you all again soon for another fully booked year ahead!!! 🎉🥳 I will take the next couple of weeks to rest up and spend some quality time with my family and my amazing dogs. The dog in the picture is my special boy Rupert who will sit and wait for me to come through the front door, is there any better sight to come home to. Bless his heart ♥️
Lastly, thank you all for the generous gifts, cards and tips you’ve all given me this month I’ve been truly spoiled rotten you all go above and beyond for Ellie and I and we appreciate every single one of you more than you’ll ever know.

Love you all billions

Helloooo! So we’re just getting into the final working week of the year here at Vanity Furr and this is always the busiest time for us. So just a couple of little things I’d be really grateful if you could do just to keep everything running as smoothly as possible…

• Please PLEASE arrive to your appointment on time, this is so important. I’m trying to keep to such a tight schedule and I really can’t be waiting around for people to turn up late as it then clashes with other appointments and disrupts my whole day, I will have to turn anyone away who is late.

• Please collect your dog when they are ready and I’ve contacted you to confirm this, I can’t be holding onto your dogs for extra time as it’s a busy working grooming salon and not a doggy day care centre.
• Make sure your dog has been out and had chance to go the toilet prior to arriving at the salon, rain or shine they must have been out before coming for a groom. Its not my place nor do I have time to clean up after your dog and you all know how super strict I am about not letting your dogs use my lawn, driveway or salon as a place to let them toilet.

I hope this doesn’t come across as negative I’m just trying to keep things as easy as I can for everyone involved 🙏🏻 we’ve been working 12+ hours days, 7 days a week and doing my best as always.

Thank you all for your continued custom and support, I can’t wait to continue to work hard and get all your dogs ready for the big day! 🎅🏻🎄

Thank you millions

The story of Gippy…
On Saturday I was given the pleasure of meeting this beautiful little dog Gippy, who along with her mum and dad travelled all the way from Castle Cary in Somerset to visit Vanity Furr for a groom.
Desperate to find a groomer who could groom her due to aggression and behavioural issues.

She is known for being extremely aggressive and has a bite history so therefore can no longer visit grooming salons and her owners have sadly had to resort to having to go to the vets for Gippy to be put under anaesthetic and shaved all off whilst she’s asleep as it was too distressing and she was becoming dangerous.
This is very extreme but in certain circumstances the only option, however it’s risky and sad for both owner and dog to have to get to this stage.

A long standing client and good friend of mine told me about Gippy’s situation and I just knew I wanted to help them. I said if they are happy to do the drive up here I’m more than happy to give Gippy another chance at being in a grooming salon.

On arrival Gippy and her owners were visibly very nervous (understandably) and I was told she most likely won’t let me touch her face, trim her nails or put scissors anywhere near her face as she will attack. I knew I had to be careful but I could tell she was simply lashing out and biting through pure fear of the groomer and I needed to show Gippy that I was someone she could trust and feel safe with.

I knew my capabilities and was so happy to achieve what we did in just the first session, but all she really needed was some calm reassurance, gentle handling and shown some love from her groomer and bless her she let me provide a completely different grooming experience for her.
She was happily resting her head in my hand whilst I gave her a hair cut fully trusting me and proving to her I would never hurt her and I was a safe space. She went from arriving trembling, panting and shaking to then fully relaxing, laying down and even gave me kisses when the groom was complete.

A huge thank you to her amazing and dedicated owners Alan and Michelle for travelling a 400 mile round trip just to give Gippy a haircut. That shows the devotion and pure love they have for their dog and what they will do for her happiness, thank you for putting your trust in me to look after her.
And to the amazing John and Tracey for recommending me and for all your support in getting Gippy up here ❤️ my biggest fans.

I hope I’ve been able to change Gippys life moving forward and she can finally enjoy safe grooming, I can’t wait to see her again next year and I will update everyone on her progress!

Thank you all for reading,
