There are more and more dog "trainers" and "behaviourists" appearing on the scene everyday and even dog walkers are now offering their services as trainers and behaviourists. Please remember this is an unregulated industry and I for one am sick of hearing horrific reports of the types of methods being used, I've even been sent videos of dogs who resource guard being stood over whilst clearly very stressed and then kicked, or trainers using their own dog to correct and chase clients dogs, I personally have had many dog walkers as clients over the years as many are simply not educated to a standard where they advise adequately, so please check qualifications prior to thinking they could be a cheap alternative to using actual qualified trainers and behaviourists. Also I must say I have had many many clients who have already used 1 or 2 and even up to several previous so called qualified trainers / behaviourists with no real time results, but paid out literally thousands, check reviews and training methods be careful of anyone who uses anything to inflict pain or severe discomfort or anyone who is so far gone the other way they believe the dog should consent to every cue. There is a very fine line between balanced training and dog abuse. Don't think "how do I make my dog do something? but how do I make them want to do it.
