🐍🐸🕷️ New recruits to the Pixel Paw crew! 🕷️🐸🐍

Just a few of the newbies joining the Pixel Paw gang today… and we’re branching out slightly from the usual dogs, cats and fluffy things. 😂

We have snakes. 🐍
We have frogs. 🐸
We have spiders. 🕷️
And yes… every single one of them apparently has a name.

Am I going to be able to tell you what those names are?
Absolutely bloody not. 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

There are far too many legs, not enough legs, and in some cases no legs whatsoever for me to keep track of who’s who. 😂

The two exceptions are Dave, one of the snakes, whose name I have actually managed to retain… and one particularly substantial eight-legged lady who I have personally nicknamed Big Bertha. 🕷️🤣
Is that her real name? Nope.
Does she look like a Big Bertha? Absolutely.

So for the foreseeable future everyone else shall be known as:

🕵️‍♂️🐾 Detective Teddy: The Monday Mysteries

Detective Teddy was up, ready and straight on the case this morning. 🔎🐶 No time to waste — there were mysteries to solve and sniffs to investigate!

Unfortunately, today’s caseload turned out to be rather limited. 🤣

Mystery No. 1:
Where do these bloody legs keep coming from that I keep bumping into?! 👀😂
Despite extensive investigation, Detective Teddy remains convinced they appear from absolutely nowhere and certainly have nothing to do with him wandering around with his nose glued to the floor. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

Mystery No. 2:
When is the next treat coming? 🦴🤨
This investigation was considerably more successful. After following several promising leads, staring directly at the treat provider and looking suitably adorable, evidence was eventually produced. 😂

With the important cases dealt with, Teddy enjoyed a lovely sniffy wander, taking his time investigating the grass, paths and woodland — with his little nose doing most of the navigating. 🥰

Another successful shift for Detective Teddy. 🔎🐾

🐾 Piggy’s Sunday Morning 🐾

After yesterday afternoon’s antics, Piggy apparently decided Sunday mornings are for taking things a little slower. 😂🥰

We started with a little wander around and the very important job of checking everything was exactly where she’d left it. 👀🐱 Once satisfied that all was well, it was straight onto the sofa for the main event… fuss. Lots and lots of fuss. ❤️

She snuggled herself in beside me, happily accepting chin scratches and cuddles, with plenty of those gorgeous little sleepy faces that make it VERY difficult to actually get up and do anything. 🥹😂

There was the occasional moment of alertness when something caught her attention — because obviously Piggy still has a house to supervise — but it wasn’t long before those eyes started getting heavier again. 😴

Eventually she completely gave in, flopped over and settled down looking very content with life. 🥰

A much calmer visit for Miss Piggy this morning. Full belly, plenty of fuss, a cosy sofa and absolutely no responsibilities. Quite frankly, she’s got Sunday figured out better than the rest of us. 🤣❤️🐾

🐾 Piggy’s Playful Afternoon 🐾

Well, somebody clearly saved all her energy up this morning because Piggy has been in full play mode this afternoon! 🤣🐱

We’ve had rolling around on the floor showing off the belly, attacking toys, grabbing anything that dared move and generally behaving like an absolute loon. 😂

The blanket also became a VERY exciting source of entertainment. First she was rolling around underneath it, then disappearing completely before popping her little face back out like “you can’t see me…” 👀🤣

Then came the toys… and Piggy was taking no prisoners. 😂 The fish got grabbed, wrestled and thoroughly dealt with, before she moved on to the dangly ribbons which apparently required a full-body, upside-down assault from underneath the chair. 🤣🎣

There were a couple of brief moments where she sat beautifully and pretended to be a perfectly respectable young lady… but thankfully I have photographic evidence proving otherwise. 😂📸

Safe to say, Piggy has had a very playful, very silly and very entertaining afternoon — with plenty of fuss squeezed in between her bouts of chaos. 🥰🐾

And with the sheer amount of photos I took today, choosing which ones to post may actually be the hardest part of my job. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣❤️

💦 Baxter’s Water Adventure 💦

Well… I think it’s safe to say Baxter found his happy place today. 🤣💦🐾

We headed out for our walk and apparently the actual path was merely a suggestion, because Baxter made a beeline straight for the overgrown bits and discovered his own little watery paradise. 😂

And once he was in there? Getting out was absolutely not on the agenda. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

He spent most of the walk wading through the water, splashing about, sticking his nose into every patch of grass and investigating all the little streams and muddy bits he could find. Every time I thought we might continue our walk like normal people… nope. Back in the water. 💦😂

At one point he was so deep in the undergrowth I was basically just following an orange lead and hoping there was still a Baxter attached to the other end. 🤣🌿

He had an absolute whale of a time though — plenty of sniffing, exploring and paddling, with absolutely ZERO concern for keeping those paws clean. 🐾😂

Eventually I managed to convince my little swamp creature that we did, in fact, have to leave. Judging by the look on his face, he strongly disagreed with this decision. 🤣

10/10 adventure for Baxter.
10/10 soggy paws.
0/10 interest in staying on the path. 😂💦🐶

🐾 Morning with Piggy 🐾

What a way to spend my birthday!! 🥳🎂 Apparently birthday mornings are best spent being completely and utterly adored by a cat — and I have absolutely no complaints. 😂❤️

Piggy has enjoyed a lovely relaxed morning with me, and she has been SO affectionate. 🥹 We’ve had lots and lots of fuss, head bumps, purrs and some proper little face-to-face love. I think I may have been temporarily adopted. 😂🐱

When she wasn’t busy demanding cuddles, Piggy took up her very important position by the window for a spot of bird watching. 👀🐦

And by watching, I obviously mean watching while providing a full running commentary. 🤣 The little chirps and chatter were out in force as she kept a very close eye on everything happening outside. I can only assume the birds were being thoroughly told off.

We even squeezed in a little playtime before Piggy decided that the tassels on the blanket were far more interesting than anything else. Because naturally, you can buy cats all the toys in the world and they’ll still choose a bit of string attached to the furniture. 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Then it was back to relaxing, purring and soaking up more fuss. 🥰

Honestly, if I’ve got to work on my birthday, THIS is exactly how I want to do it. ❤️🐾

A full house today with Boo, Nyx & Raine all making sure they got their share of the attention. 😂❤️

Boo was first on welcoming duties, meeting me at the door and giving me a good sniff-over before deciding I was acceptable and enjoying some lovely gentle fuss. 🐱🥰

Nyx, meanwhile, had a slightly different approach…

SCREAM. 📢🤣

Apparently the fact I hadn’t immediately rushed over and begun fussing her was an absolutely unacceptable level of customer service. The complaint was loud, clear and dealt with promptly. 😂 I mean, LOOK at that little angry face! She may be tiny, but she certainly isn’t lacking opinions. 🤣❤️

Then it was Raine’s turn! 🐶🐾

We went for a slightly shorter walk than our usual today, but we certainly didn’t waste it. We packed in plenty of sniffing and, of course, FETCH! 🎾

Raine was absolutely loving life charging around after her ball — ears flying, tail in the air and proudly bringing her prize back ready to go again. 🥹😂 Those action shots are just glorious!

Once we’d had our fill of running around, we headed back home where the fun wasn’t quite finished. Raine got stuck into her treat toy, giving that clever little brain something to work on while hunting out the goodies inside. 🦴🧠

So today’s visit consisted of:

🐱 A polite welcome and gentle fuss from Boo
📢 A formal complaint from Nyx regarding unacceptable fussing delays
🎾 A shorter-but-action-packed fetch and sniff adventure with Raine
🦴 And a little enrichment to finish things off

🐾 Teddy’s “Do We HAVE To?” Morning Walk 😂🐾

Well… Teddy was absolutely not feeling it this morning. 🤣

We headed out for our walk and Teddy immediately made his feelings on the matter perfectly clear. Apparently today was a day for taking life at approximately 0.2mph. 😂🐌

There was no rushing this gentleman. Every leaf needed sniffing. Every bush required a thorough inspection. Every tree apparently contained information of national importance. 🌳👃🤣 And between sniffing stops, we plodded along at the slowest speed Teddy could possibly manage without actually travelling backwards.

I accepted my fate and let him dictate the pace. After all, Teddy walks are Teddy walks — we’re not exactly training for a marathon here. 😂❤️

But then…

We turned around.

Suddenly Teddy realised we were HEADING HOME.

And would you believe it?! The elderly gentleman who moments earlier appeared to have forgotten how legs worked experienced a miraculous recovery. 🤣🤣

Head up.
Spring in his step.
Actual SPEED. 💨🐶

Apparently there was absolutely nothing wrong with Teddy’s legs — he simply strongly disagreed with the direction of travel. 😂

I see you, Teddy. 👀🤣

🧠🐾 Milo’s Brainwork Afternoon 🐾🧠

No big walk needed for Milo this afternoon — today we put that busy little cockapoo brain to work instead! 🥰

We started our visit out in the garden where Milo greeted me with a very important full-body shake and biiiiig stretch 😂 Apparently you have to limber up properly before tackling the serious business of earning snacks!

Once suitably warmed up, it was time for Milo to show off some of his tricks. And of course, roll over had to make an appearance — complete with maximum enthusiasm and paws flying everywhere. 🤣 He also ran through some of his other commands, happily working away for his kibble and reminding me just how clever he is. 🧠🐶

Then we switched things up with some scent work, hiding pieces of his kibble for him to sniff out. 👃🔎 Milo absolutely loves having a job to do, and watching that nose switch on as he hunts around for every last piece is always brilliant. His normal meal suddenly becomes approximately 700% more exciting when he has to work for it. 😂

After all that sniffing we headed back into the garden for another little trick session — because apparently Milo still had some showing off left to do! 🤣🐾

Finally, it was time to bring the energy back down. I popped some more of his kibble into an enrichment toy and Milo settled himself on the sofa to work out how to get every last piece out. 💚

So today’s agenda was basically:

Shake ✔️
Stretch ✔️
Show off ✔️
Use the snoot ✔️
Show off some more ✔️
Conquer the kibble toy ✔️
Become one very satisfied little curly monster ✔️ 😂❤️

A lovely afternoon giving Milo plenty to think about without needing to rack up the miles. Sometimes tiring out the brain is just as important as tiring out those little legs! 🧠🐾🥰
