π What Should Be Included in a Puppy Reservation Agreement?
A puppy reservation agreement protects both the future owner and the breeder. Before paying a reservation fee or deposit, make sure the agreement includes:
β
the breeder's full details, including their breeding licence number, and the buyer's full details,
β
the puppy's details (breed, s*x, colour, date of birth, and microchip number if already assigned),
β
the amount of the reservation fee and payment method,
β
the expected collection date,
β
details of the documents to be provided at collection (e.g. pedigree, registration certificate, health record with the veterinarian's entries, and microchip documentation),
β
the terms regarding refunds or forfeiture of the reservation fee,
β
information covering unforeseen circumstances, such as illness, death of the puppy, or situations where the puppy cannot be released to the new owner,
β
the signatures of both parties and the date the agreement was signed.
π A well-prepared reservation agreement helps prevent misunderstandings and clearly defines the rights and responsibilities of both parties before the puppy joins its new home.
