Today I received another message from someone who avoided losing money thanks to the advice and information I’ve shared in my previous posts. ❀️
It means a great deal to me to know that my posts about safely reserving a puppy are genuinely helping people. Messages like this are exactly why I continue to educate future dog owners.
Buying a puppy should be a joyful experience, not one filled with stress, disappointment, and financial loss. Unfortunately, scammers know how to take advantage of people’s emotions when they are searching for their dream puppy. That’s why it’s so important to stay cautious and never make decisions under pressure.

πŸ“Œ Before paying any deposit, always ask the breeder for:
βœ”οΈ A valid breeding licence with its licence number confirming they are authorised to breed.
βœ”οΈ A Puppy Reservation Agreement – this should be signed before any deposit is paid and should clearly outline the rights and responsibilities of both parties.
βœ”οΈ A Puppy Sale & Purchase Agreement – ask whether the breeder provides one and what it includes.
It is also a good idea to: βœ”οΈ arrange to see the puppy in person or at least by a live video call, βœ”οΈ make sure the breeder is happy to show all relevant documents and answer your questions.

If a breeder avoids answering your questions, refuses to show documentation, won’t allow you to see the puppy, or pressures you into making a quick payment, treat these as serious warning signs.
Sometimes being cautious means walking away from the puppy you had your heart set on. However, it is far better to wait a little longer than to lose your money and experience the heartbreak of being scammed.
