It’s just the two of us today, as we discuss our old days. It was a prickly start for Tania! Find out why in this episode.

Katie’s not convinced by this week’s tack room tipple, and, as always, Tania answers your questions.

What a difference a day makes! Yesterday, we headed to Bantridge Park to start our BD campaign for the winters. It didn’t go our way; Sweets wasn’t right and our scores went south. I half thought I wouldn’t take her to Hickstead for the Sunshine Tour Championship today, but then decided I’d go and do one of the two tests to get more feedback on what’s going on. I went with the lowest expectations, and came out with a Grand Tour championship win! Sweets was soft, round, very ‘with me’ and both canter leads were super. She scored a brilliant 70.4% and I’m going to wear my champion’s sash to the pub tonight. She’s always been my champion and I can’t wait to see her in her champion’s rug! 💖🍬💖

Richard Davison is a pod favourite, so we were delighted to chat with him at the Defender Burghley Horse Trials. He was suspicious of our questions at first, but soon warmed up to share his memories of his early equestrian days and to chat about how much the sport has changed. Always insightful and always knowledgable, make sure you grab a tack room tipple to enjoy while you listen to Richard.

Tania enjoys our Defender Burghley tipple, as Katie makes sure her hot seat is nice and warm.

Sweets and I headed to our Area Festival on Saturday at Sparsholt. It was an early start with a 3.55am alarm! It really wasn’t our day; Sweetie was brilliant - she warmed up beautifully, coped with the arena walk and her way of going during the test was the best she’s felt. Sadly, her pilot did not have her brain on the game! I messed up two elements of the test - one was a very expensive mistake - and god only knows what happened to my ability to ride accurate shapes! We live and learn. Onwards! We have a busy Autumn with a manic October, full of BD and riding club qualifiers and all being well with his foot, Hamish will make his riding club debut, too.
