www.sheprethwildlifepark.co.uk Shepreth Wildlife Park first started as a private sanctuary in 1979. Willers Mill Wild Animal Sanctuary was a refuge for creatures great and small, including rescued foxes, hedgehogs and badgers, alongside many different species of unlicensed exotics. After care and rehabilitation, many were released back into the wild, but when this was not possible, they lived out their life at the sanctuary. Today, Shepreth Wildlife Park is home to the busy SWCC Hedgehog Hospital and also participates in national and international breeding programmes for endangered species. It remains as committed as ever to its animals, wildlife conservation and to educating the next generation of conservationists.

Did you know that many of the animals at Shepreth Wildlife Park take part in cooperative care?

We give them the chance to do specific behaviours in exchange for small food rewards, like insects or nuts. These trained behaviours help us check their health and treat minor health issues.

These behaviours include stepping onto scales, letting us feel their limbs, opening their mouth to show their teeth, taking medicine from a syringe, going into a travel crate, moving toward a target stick (as Bramble is showing in the picture) and standing still for an ultrasound.

Maybe it was a gift from someone with questionable taste and you don't want it but you feel bad about throwing it away (don't worry, we won't tell!).

We're looking for perfume donations for scent enrichment!

For animals who rely heavily on their sense of smell, new scents are fantastic for stimulating their minds. So, send those unwanted bottles our way and the animals will put it to good use!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Wild Wellness day with Strongsupplesound ! All of the proceeds, totaling £400, are going directly to help care for our patients.
