Important update from the Culverden vets.
๐ง๏ธ๐พ More Cases of Gastroenteritis in Dogs
Weโre currently seeing an increase in dogs with gastroenteritis, causing symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea, reduced appetite, and lethargy.
This can be more common after periods of heavy rainfall following a long dry spell, as bacteria, parasites, and other contaminants can be washed into puddles and standing water that dogs may drink from or play in.
To help reduce the risk:
๐ง Avoid letting your dog drink from puddles or stagnant water
๐พ Wash muddy paws and dirty coats after walks
๐ถ Take fresh water with you on walks
If your dog develops vomiting, diarrhoea, or seems unwell, please contact the team at Culverden Vets for advice.
