🐾 Everyone, meet adorable little Ned! 🐾
Ned recently visited us with his big sister for his first health check and nail trim. But all that excitement was clearly exhausting, as he'd fallen fast asleep before Olivia the vet even called him into the consulting room! 💤
He barely stirred during his examination either. Now that's what we call a relaxed puppy! ❤️
We can't wait to watch Ned grow up and see whether he's quite so laid-back at his next visit!

🐌 Wet weather means more slugs and snails — and potentially more exposure to lungworm. 🪱

Dogs can become infected with lungworm by eating infected slugs or snails — and they don’t necessarily have to eat one deliberately. Small slugs and snails can be picked up while playing outside, drinking from outdoor water bowls or chewing toys left in the garden.

Not all worming products protect against lungworm, so it’s worth checking that your dog is properly covered.

Maple recently came in for her first vaccination and joined our Healthy Hive Club! 🐶❤️
As Maple is part of Receptionist Claire's family, she was already very familiar with one of our friendly faces and was more than happy to enjoy plenty of cuddles during her visit!

We would love you all to meet Sully, he has been in for castration recently. 🐕

Sully was sent home with a buster collar, but he didn’t enjoy knocking everything over with this, so his owners asked for a recovery suit.

Sully has coped so much better with this, has been nice and comfortable and enjoyed representing Beehive vets.

He has been doing so well and loved having a little photo shoot in reception along with lots of fusses and treats.

If your pet has a wound on their trunk, don’t forget to ask about our surgery suits to help make your pet more comfortable while their wounds heal.

🎃 Trick or treat? For our pets, it can sometimes be a bit of both! 👻

Around Halloween, keep an eye out for dropped sweets, chocolate and wrappers on pavements, driveways and gardens — particularly after a busy night of trick-or-treating.

Chocolate, raisins and some sugar-free sweets containing xylitol can be toxic to dogs, while wrappers can also cause problems if swallowed.

🍂 Watch out for acorns and conkers on autumn walks! 🐶

They might make great autumn decorations, but they’re not so great when eaten by our dogs. Acorns and conkers can cause vomiting and tummy upsets, and if swallowed whole they can sometimes cause a blockage.

Keep an eye on what your dog is sniffing (and snacking on!) around trees and bushes this autumn.
