🐾 Mummy’s going AWOL for the night! 😂❤️

Before heading off to celebrate my mum’s 70th birthday, I’ve had to get my own little fur family organised for an overnight stay away 🥰

Eight timed feeders set up, breakfast served, all the litter trays sorted, the catio tidied and Grayson’s feeder ready to go. He also has his automatic biscuit feeder because that boy is a little bit too fond of his food and cannot be trusted to manage an all-you-can-eat buffet! 🤣🐈

Everyone has had their morning kisses, everyone is fed, and everything is sorted for the night. I’ll be home in the morning, so they only have one night without their mummy ❤️

Honestly, organising eight cats for one night away is like running a small hotel, except your guests have fur, questionable manners and absolutely no intention of paying the bill! 😂🐾

Right, Mummy’s off duty! Time to celebrate a special 70th birthday 🥂🎂

🐾 A lovely morning visit to Maine C**n Manor this morning, where I got to meet their new boy, Anarchy! 😻❤️

Oh, what a lad he is! So affectionate and loving, an absolute little sweetheart. He was happy to soak up the attention, and of course, I was more than happy to oblige! 😂🥰

He’s a gorgeous addition to their fur family, and I think he’s going to steal a few hearts along the way! ❤️🐾

🐾💕 A little morning visit with the beautiful Myrtle and Maggie! 💕

I popped in this morning to make sure these two lovely girls had their breakfast while their mummy is away🐱❤️

It’s always a pleasure to see them and have a little catch-up. They’re such gorgeous little girls, and it’s a real joy to be able to keep them happy and loved in the comfort of their own home 🥰🐾

🐾 Auntie Sonia is back on Spartan duty! 🐾❤️

I was back visiting these gorgeous faces last night, and clearly, a couple of weeks is quite long enough for them to demand another visit from their favourite cat nanny! 😂💕

Lots of love, cuddles and fuss all round, and I’m back with them again tonight. Honestly, I think I’ve been promoted to Auntie Sonia! 😻❤️

For anyone who doesn’t know their story, these beautiful cats originally came from Greece, from the animal sanctuary where their mummy goes out to volunteer and help cats in need 🇬🇷🐾

It’s lovely to be part of their lives and give them plenty of love and attention while their human is away. Such a gorgeous bunch, and I’m always happy to be back on cuddle duty! 🥰🐈

🐾 A LITTLE HEADS-UP FOR 2027 🐾

I just wanted to give everyone a bit of advance notice regarding July, August & September next year ☀️🐈

These are already proving to be my busiest months, and after this year, I’ve realised that something needs to change!

Since the end of June, I’ve only had three full days off, and my first proper day off since then will be the 23rd of October! 😳😂 That’s a whole lot of kitty cuddles, litter trays, feeding bowls and miles on the car!

As much as I absolutely love what I do, I also need to make sure I’m giving myself enough time to rest and recharge. I want to keep providing the best possible care for all your gorgeous cats, but I also need a little more than the odd day off here and there! ❤️🐾

So, during July, August & September 2027, availability for new clients will be limited.

My priority will be looking after my existing regular clients, who I want to make sure have the availability they need. I will still accept new clients during these months where I have space available, but I won’t be taking on more bookings than I can realistically manage.

I’m giving you plenty of notice because I know many of you like to get your holidays booked well in advance, so if you’re already thinking about summer 2027, please don’t leave it until the last minute! 😊

This isn’t me disappearing off into the sunset with a suitcase and eight cats in tow (tempting as that sounds! 😂🐈). It’s simply about making sure I can continue doing what I love while having a little more balance and some well-earned time off.

Thank you, as always, for keeping me so ridiculously busy and for trusting me with your precious fur babies. Your support means the world to me ❤️🐾

🐾 Morning cuddles with Rocco 🥰❤️

There’s nothing quite like starting the morning with cuddles from this gorgeous boy! 🐾

I think Rocco and Woody are definitely missing their mummy and daddy, who will be home this Friday. I know two very happy boys are going to be waiting to shower their humans with all the cuddles and love they’ve been saving up! 🥹❤️

Sonia the Cat Nanny can give them plenty of fuss, cuddles and attention, but let’s face it… there’s no place quite like having your own humans home! 😻❤️

Morning cat visits are done, I’m home, and I’m finally putting my feet up. What a lovely, peaceful way to spend my afternoon 🥰

Hector has decided I’m his personal chair, whilst Mary is snuggled up next to me, purring her little head off ❤️🐈

Honestly, who needs a spa day when you’ve got a Maine C**n sat on you and another one purring beside you? 😂

And I wouldn’t change it for the world! 🐾❤️

After a night of rain, the garden was looking a little soggy this morning, but that didn’t bother these two boys one bit! 😂

Straight out onto the grass they went, playing away without a care in the world 😻

🧡 A little more time with my own beautiful boys 🧡

After a very busy few weeks, my diary has finally quietened down a little, with just one visit in the morning and one in the evening 🐾

Must admit, it’s lovely to be able to breathe for a change! 😂 And more importantly, to spend some much-needed time with my own beautiful fur babies, who I’ve missed incredibly while I’ve been busy looking after everyone else’s kitties 🥹❤️

Ralf and Hector are certainly enjoying having a bit more of Mum’s attention… although I suspect they’d prefer 24/7 room service, as usual! 🤣👑

Sometimes you just need to slow down, recharge your batteries and enjoy some quality time with the ones who make your house a home 🐈🧡

🐱🥣 WHISKER FATIGUE! IS YOUR CAT’S DINNER BOWL GETTING ON THEIR LAST NERVE? 😂

Ever watched your cat scoop food out of their bowl with their paw, eat off the floor instead, or act like you’ve personally offended them by serving dinner? 🙄🤣

Well, one possible explanation is something called whisker fatigue! 🐾

🐱 So, what is it?

Cats have incredibly sensitive whiskers, packed with sensory receptors that help them navigate their surroundings. Some people believe that repeatedly brushing against the sides of a deep, narrow food bowl may be uncomfortable or overstimulating for certain cats.

It’s worth knowing that whisker fatigue isn’t a firmly established veterinary diagnosis, and not every cat who makes a mess at dinnertime has a whisker problem!

🥣 How can you make mealtimes more comfortable?

🐾 Go wide and shallow. Try a broad, shallow bowl or plate so those magnificent whiskers have plenty of room.

🍽️ Consider the material. Ceramic or stainless steel bowls are easy to clean and make good options.

👀 Watch your cat’s behaviour. If they consistently pull food out of the bowl, seem reluctant to eat, or keep pawing at their food, try a different bowl and see whether it helps.

❤️ Don’t ignore changes in appetite. Dental problems, nausea and other health issues can also affect eating, so speak to your vet if the behaviour persists or your cat isn’t eating normally.

And remember, cats already have us trained to serve dinner on demand, at precisely the correct time, at the correct temperature, in the correct location. Apparently, we now have to get the crockery right too! 😂👑

Because in a cat’s world, we’re not the owners. We’re the staff! 🐾💕

Tell me, does your cat eat nicely from their bowl, or do they insist on redecorating the kitchen floor with their dinner, like mine do? 😂🙈

Mind you, I do have Maine C**ns, so I’m not entirely convinced it’s whisker fatigue. I think mine just believe that dinner should be served EVERYWHERE! 🤣🐈
