πŸΎπŸ’™ Dobby's Big Day! πŸ’™πŸΎ

Yesterday, gorgeous Dobby visited us for his castration procedure. 🐱✨

Dobby was an absolute superstar throughout his stay with us and charmed the whole team with his sweet nature. After a smooth procedure and plenty of TLC from our nurses, he was soon ready to head home for some rest and recovery. 🏑❀️

Castration is an important part of preventative healthcare for many cats and can help reduce unwanted behaviours while preventing unplanned litters.

We're delighted that Dobby did so well and wish him a speedy recovery. Get plenty of rest, Dobbyβ€”we're sure you'll be back to your usual adventures in no time! πŸ˜ΊπŸ’™

🐾 Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month – The History Behind Veterinary Nursing Badges 🐾

Ever wondered what these veterinary nursing badges mean? 🩺✨ They’re more than just part of a uniform β€” they represent the history, development and dedication within the veterinary nursing profession 🐢🐱

At the centre of both badges is Saint Francis of Assisi πŸ•πŸ¦πŸˆ β€” known as the patron saint of animals. He was recognised for his kindness and compassion towards all living creatures, making him a symbol of care and animal welfare πŸ’š

πŸ”΄ Red Badge – Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
Represents qualified and registered veterinary nurses who have met professional standards and continue lifelong learning πŸ“šβœ¨

πŸ”΅ Blue Badge – Advanced Veterinary Nursing Diploma (AVN)
Represents an earlier veterinary nursing qualification route, worn proudly by many experienced nurses within the profession πŸ’™

Although the colours and training pathways differ, both badges represent the same important values: care, compassion, knowledge and dedication to animal welfare 🩺🐾

During Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month, we’re celebrating the amazing veterinary nurses past and present who work tirelessly caring for our patients every day πŸ’›βœ¨
