Somewhere today, a pet will receive a life-saving blood transfusion. 🩸

Behind every transfusion is a generous donor pet, a caring owner and a veterinary team working together when every second counts.

This world blood donor day, we'd like to say a big thank you to all the incredible animal blood donors and their humans. ♥️

Would you consider your dog becoming a donor if eligible?
To be considered as a potential donor dogs must;
🐾 Be under 8 years old
🐾 Weigh over 25kg
🐾 Be up to date with vaccinations
🐾 Not be imported or travelled overseas
🐾 Not to be on any on-going prescription medications

If you would like to learn more about canine blood donation, or register your dog as a donor, speak to a member of the Chaseview team. 📞

World Pet Memorial Day 🐾
Today we remember the pets who changed our lives with wagging tails, gentle purrs and unconditional love.

No matter how much time we get with them, it never feels long enough.

At Chaseview Veterinary Clinic we know how deeply pets are loved, and how greatly they are missed. Today we are thinking of all those cherished companions who are no longer beside us. 💔

If you’d like to, share a photo or memory of a special pet below 💙

Exciting changes are happening at Chaseview!

This week, we’ll be moving to a brand-new computer system designed to help us provide an even better service for you and your pets.

While we make the transition, there may be the occasional delay or things may work a little differently than usual. Our team will be doing everything we can to keep things running smoothly, and we appreciate your patience and understanding while we get settled into our new system.

Thank you for bearing with us during this change – and, as always, for trusting us with your pets’ care. 🐾💙

It's that time of year again...🌾
Tiny seed. Huge problem.

These pesky little things can work themselves into places they shouldn’t such as ears, eyes, noses, tongues and feet so please be vigilant when walking your pooches in grassy areas this time of year and always give them a good brush when you get home. 🌾

Don’t forget as part of our pet health plan you can enjoy unlimited free consultations 🥰 (excludes out of hours consultations).

✨Happy International Corgi Day!✨

Did you know there are two types of Welsh Corgi?
📍Pembroke Welsh Corgi
- The more well known and favoured by the late Queen Elizabeth.
- Pointed ears, historically the Pembroke had a docked tail (sometimes born with a natural bob tail).
- Thought to have ancestry linked to spitz type dogs brought to Wales by Flemish weavers.

📍Cardigan Welsh Corgi
- The older, OG corgi breed (currently a vulnerable native breed).
- Slightly larger with rounder ears and a long fox like tail.
- Believed to descend from the same family as Dachshunds, brought to Wales by Celtic tribes over 3,000 years ago.

Both breeds may be small, but they're full of personality, intelligence and herding instinct - bred to herd cattle by nipping at heels. 🐮

Got a corgi at home? Share a pic - we'd love to see them! 📸♥️

Laparoscopic (keyhole) spay is a minimally invasive technique used to neuter female dogs.

The key benefits to this type of surgery over a traditional spay is;
➡️ A less painful and more rapid recovery
➡️ Lowered risk of infection & bleeding
➡️ Two small incisions instead of a longer midline incision.
➡️ Faster wound healing times - particularly handy for very excitable or larger breed dogs.

Pictured are vets Will and Claire using the ‘two port’ technique. RVN Caz is closely monitoring and maintaining anaesthetic safety.

Did you know you could enjoy a 10% discount off neutering surgery, including laparoscopic spays if you are a member of our pet health club. Click here for more information or to sign up today ➡️ https://www.chaseviewvets.co.uk/pet-health-plan/

Sad Post 🐾

Today, a kind member of the public brought in a cat who had sadly passed away following a road traffic accident.

He is a entire male ginger and white cat found in harewood end area.

We would very much like to reunite him with his owners and provide them with some closure. If you believe this may be your cat, or you have any information that may help us identify him, please contact Chaseview Veterinary Clinic directly.

Thank you for sharing to help us reach his family. 💔

Are you meeting your cat’s five pillars of a healthy environment? 🐱✨

Cats aren’t just small dogs – they have very specific needs to feel safe, happy, and healthy at home. The “Five Pillars of Feline Wellbeing” help us understand what truly makes a cat thrive:

🐾 1. A safe place
Every cat needs somewhere they can retreat to and feel secure – think cosy beds, covered areas, or a quiet shelf up high.

🐾 2. Multiple, separate resources
Food, water, litter trays, scratching posts, and resting areas should be spread out (especially in multi-cat homes). Sharing isn’t always caring in the cat world!

🐾 3. Opportunity for play and hunting
Cats are natural hunters. Regular play sessions with toys help reduce stress and keep them mentally and physically stimulated.

🐾 4. Positive, consistent human interaction
Let your cat choose when and how they interact. Gentle, predictable handling builds trust and confidence.

🐾 5. A cat-friendly environment that respects their senses
Cats experience the world very differently to us. Strong smells, loud noises, or sudden changes can be stressful – so keeping things calm and consistent is key.

💡 Even small changes at home can make a big difference to your cat’s wellbeing.

If you’re not sure how your home setup stacks up, feel free to ask us for advice at your next visit 🐾
