🐾 Salon window 🐾
I’ve had a few of you asking why I don’t change my salon window as often as I used to, so I thought I’d explain.
Those of you who have been following me for a while will remember that I used to love creating themed windows, having a bit of fun with them and hopefully making a few of you smile along the way. I loved coming up with new ideas, and it was lovely knowing that some of you looked forward to seeing what I’d come up with next.
There are a couple of reasons why I haven’t done as many lately. Firstly, I’ve been absolutely run off my feet with the dogs, and finding the time to create a whole new window display hasn’t always been easy! But the main reason is a slightly less glamorous one… DOG HAIR! 😂Because my salon is all one room, the hair has a habit of travelling EVERYWHERE while I’m grooming, including into the window display. I’m constantly cleaning it up, and when the colder weather arrives and condensation forms on the windows, the hair sticks to everything and makes a right old mess! 🤦♀️ As much as I love creating fun displays, trying to keep lots of little props and decorations clean in a dog grooming salon can be a challenge in itself! So, for now, I’m trying to find ways to keep my window looking interesting, fun and a little bit quirky, but in a way that’s more practical and manageable for me day to day. I haven’t lost my sense of humour or my love for a bit of creativity — I’m just trying to find a way to make it work around the lovely, hairy chaos that comes with the job!
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to look at my window and for those of you who have asked about it. It really does make me smile knowing that you enjoy it! 🐶🐾
