Autumn Care About Cushings Vouchers are now available! πŸ‚πŸŽ

The Autumn complimentary testing period is now open until 31st October. Therefore, free cushings diagnostic lab fees are now available.

A free follow up lab test will be available 4-6 weeks after starting treatment to ensure accurate dosing.

Equine Cushings can cause signs such as hair coat changes, lethargy, laminitis, muscle wastage and weight loss. If you would like to test your horse or discuss this with one of our vets, please call the practice.

Passport checks at the various competitions over the summer have caused real issue for some unlucky competitors. Although seemingly up to date, historic anomalies, typically with an incorrect primary vaccine course, have led to ponies and horses being turned away from a competition.

To help ensure your horse's and pony's vaccines are correct and up to date with no hidden historic mistakes, we are planning a vaccination reassurance check for BEVs clients. Hopefully just a double check... but better to be safe than sorry!

If you send in pictures of the passport vaccination pages, our vets will check through the full vaccine history from your pony's passport and confirm they are correct and up to date - including advice on differing competition rules and governing bodies. Or if you're due a vaccine in the near future, just speak to the vet in attendance at the call.

If you're unsure about your horse's vaccination history, please email photos to [email protected].

We are delighted to welcome Ellie to the team as our newest Equine Vet!

Many of you may recognise Ellie, as she spent some time with us as a student during her studies. She is excited to be returning to Yorkshire after graduating from the University of Nottingham.

Before qualifying as a vet, Ellie completed a degree in Animal Science, with an emphasis on equine nutrition. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary and has a particular interest in orthopaedics.

Outside of work, Ellie enjoys riding and competing her horses, walking the dogs and watching rugby.

Ellie is looking forward to meeting all of our clients and horses soon 🐎

A tough start... This Mini Shetland foal sadly lost his mum at just 2 days old, and a foster mare was urgently needed. Luckily for Okie, one was found in time.
Mothering on went well and we're all pleased and relieved it was a successful outcome (especially Georgia the case vet!).
Okie is doing brilliantly with his new mum and we wish him, Annie and his owner all the best for a less stressful summer! β˜€οΈ
