🪿 Goslings 🪿

Last weekend we had 6 goslings brought in by two members of the public. After trying to put them back on the pond, and giving them some space, they kept coming back into the road and mum was no where to be found.

At midnight, they arrived at the Ripon hospital where they all got a health check, food, water and ensured they were all warmed up. 🥰

As all wildlife rescues were full, our Client Care, Dispensary Lead Stacey took them home to her garden where she took them under her wing 🪽

The geese have been having daily swims in a litter tray as their makeshift pond and as you can see, they are thriving! 🙌

The geese will stay until they are strong enough to be released back into the wild in a safe space.

Stacey is always on hand to help us out, along with a few other super kind team members: hand rearing kittens, birds and the occasional other waife and stray.

We always try our best here at Bishopton, for all animals, and wildlife are super important to us too 🥰❤️

🏇 A massive thank you to our colleagues at Bishopton Equine who organised a trip to Ripon Races on Wednesday evening, to watch the Bishopton Equine Handicap Stakes. The weather was typically British, so we were grateful for our Bishy brollies. ☔ A highlight of the evening was discovering that Helen from Accounts is not only good with numbers but also quite the racing pundit 😄. (She's now our official tipster). We had a great night - thank you again to Ben and his team.

Beautiful Guinness visited us for her spay and made the most of her time with us beforehand ☀️💕

She soaked up some sunshine and enjoyed plenty of pre-op cuddles before her procedure - because every brave girl deserves a little extra TLC 🥰🩷

For Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month, we’re shining a spotlight on our AMAZING Auxiliary Nursing Team 🐾

Our auxiliaries play such an important role in the day-to-day care of our patients and the smooth running of the practice. From feeding and exercising patients, preparing equipment, assisting with handling and keeping wards spotless, to offering endless cuddles and reassurance - their support is invaluable.

They work across so many areas of the practice, including the laboratory, consulting rooms, large animal areas, laundry, sterilisation and alongside our hospital and recovery nurses to help ensure every patient receives the very best care.

No two days are ever the same, and their hard work, compassion and dedication never go unnoticed.

A huge thank you to our fantastic auxiliary team: Beth, Lisa, Vicky, Katie, Caroline, Catherine, Emily & Yvonne.👏✨

As part of Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month, we’re celebrating our amazing Student Veterinary Nurses 💙🐾

Student Veterinary Nurses (SVNs) are at the beginning of their nursing journey, combining hands-on training within our practice alongside college study as they work towards their qualifications.

We’re proud to support five fantastic SVNs Emma, Keira, Lizzie, Andrea & Elise who are all at different stages of their training and development. Their enthusiasm, dedication, and passion for patient care are wonderful to see, and they are an incredibly valued part of our team.
By supporting and training the next generation of veterinary nurses, we’re helping to ensure a bright future for veterinary nursing and exceptional care for our patients for years to come 👏
