🐾Weekend Wrapped🐾

This week, we finally caught the mum from Bridgend whose two kittens we trapped last weekend. No more kittens for this girl. We’ve named her Roxy and she’ll soon be heading to our vets to be neutered.

We were also made aware of a pregnant stray in Birchgrove, but by the time we were able to get on the case, she had halved in size and given birth somewhere! With the help of some lovely local residents, a Tractive collar, plenty of Dreamies and a lot of searching, we were able to track down gorgeous Amelia and her 4 kitten. She had safely tucked away in a little nest on some stones and underneath planks of wood.

Star was neutered and returned to the area she has always known as home, while her 4 kittens have gone into foster care, where they can grow up safe, warm and loved.

We also welcomed one of our own back this week. Sometimes adoptions don’t work out, and circumstances can change. Whatever the reason, our cats will always have a place back with us. We never want anyone to feel they have nowhere to turn, and we will always take our own back into our care.

We held another car boot sale at Port Talbot Hospital car park and raised £83, which will cover the cost of Roxy’s neutering 💰Every penny raised really does make a difference.

🐱 And yesterday was International Cat Day!

For us, every day is about cats, but it’s a lovely reminder of why we do what we do. From pregnant mums hiding their babies, to kittens needing a safe place to grow, to cats who find themselves back in our care when life changes, every one of them deserves to be safe, loved and given the chance of a happy future.

We currently have a few super shy kittens in our care who are still waiting for someone to see their potential. They might not be the bouncy, confident kittens who run straight over for fuss, but with time, patience and a calm home, they can blossom into wonderful companions.
If you have a quiet, patient home and are willing to give a shy kitten the time they need to come out of their shell, please consider taking a chance on one of our not-so-bouncy kittens. You could be the person who changes their whole world.

🐾 Finn, Fifi, Fig, Zuzu & Ziggy🐾

These gorgeous kittens came into our care with their feral mum when they were just a couple of weeks old. They've come a long way since then and, while they're still a little shy, they're full of potential. With a little patience and love, they'll grow into wonderful companions.

They are 13 weeks old, microchipped, and have had their 1st vaccination. A couple of them recently had conjunctivitis, but they're now recovered and ready to find their forever homes. 💕

Stevie🧸

How cute is this little boy? 💙

Stevie came into our care as an only kitten, but while in foster he absolutely loved having friends to play with. He adores the company of other cats, and they really help to bring out his confidence, so we'd love to see him join a home with a friendly feline companion.

This talented female vocal duo from South Wales have been captivating audiences with their stunning close harmonies since meeting through Gareth Malone's Great British Home Chorus during the pandemic. Their easy-listening repertoire spans beloved musicals, modern classics, Welsh favourites, and songs by the wonderful Mal Pope.

Not only are they incredible performers, but through their concerts they've also helped raise thousands of pounds for churches and charities across Wales.

We're delighted they'll be joining us for our anniversary celebration—it's sure to be a memorable evening of beautiful music. We can't wait to welcome Echoes In Harmony, and we hope you'll join us too! 💙

🐾 NEUTERING SUPPORT SCHEME — NOW OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS

We’re delighted to announce that Ty Nant Cat Sanctuary has received a grant from Petplan Charitable Trust UK, allowing us to support a limited number of owned cats with subsidised neutering in the close vicinity of the sanctuary.

This scheme is available to residents on a low income living in:

Blaengwynfi, Abergwynfi, Croeserw, Glyncorrwg, Abercregan, Cymmer, Caerau, Cynonville, Pontrhydyfen, Cwmafan and all areas in between.

If the full grant is not used within these areas, we will then open the scheme to surrounding communities.

💷 What the Scheme Covers
Owners will be able to access:

Neuter or spay for £40

Optional microchipping for an additional £10

This support is only available for owned cats, and you must be able to get your cat to one of our partner vets:

Swansea Cat Clinic, Llansamlet

Afon Vets, Neath

📩 How to Apply
Please complete our Neuter Application Form.
Once we receive your form, we’ll be in touch with further information and your unique reference number, which you’ll use to book your cat in with the vet.

🐱 Why These Areas?
We’ve chosen these communities because we’re seeing a significant rise in reports of cats having kittens outdoors, along with many unneutered cats being surrendered. Neutering is one of the most effective ways to prevent suffering and reduce the number of cats needing rescue.

Albus is looking for his forever home again.

Some of our long time supporters may remember Albus from 3 years ago. Albus has always been one of our proudest transformations.

When Albus first came into our care, he was an exhausted, weary stray who had clearly been through so much. He was suffering with painful ingrowing eyelashes in both eyes, which required surgery, and he needed months of love, patience and TLC to help him recover.

Watching him heal, grow in confidence and finally leave for what we hoped would be his forever home was one of those moments that reminded us why we do what we do.
Sadly, Albus was returned to our care last week.

Now 11 years old, he's finding being back at the sanctuary a little confusing.

Albus is a gentle, affectionate boy who loves being around people.

As before, Albus needs to be the only cat in the home so he can have all the love and attention to himself.

We know his perfect person is out there. Could you be the one to give Albus the happy ending he truly deserves?
