Knitted this lovely cowl for my friend Ruth who has put so much time into helping me with my horse Oreo whilst he was on box rest. It’s alpaca and merino yarn - so soft and cosy. Was so pleased with how it turned out ❤️

Never too far from my needles

I love this merino wool I’ve found. Merino is such a wonderful choice for hats and gloves because it’s soft, warm and breathable without feeling heavy or bulky. It has excellent temperature-regulating properties, helping keep you cosy when it’s cold while still allowing your skin to breathe.

I also love how fine and smooth the fibres are, making it much more comfortable against the skin than many traditional wools. And it has that lovely natural elasticity and resilience that helps knitted hats and gloves keep their shape while standing up to everyday wear.

For me, it’s the perfect combination of warmth, softness, durability and comfort — everything I want in my handmade winter accessories.
