On Saturday 18th July, Bobbyโ€™s Buddies will be taking on the challenge of climbing Snowdon in support of Hounds for Heroes โ€“ a charity that is incredibly close to our hearts. โค๏ธ

This is a huge personal challenge for me and my boyfriend, but knowing weโ€™re raising money for such an amazing cause will keep us going every step of the way.

Hounds for Heroes provides specially trained assistance dogs to injured and disabled members of the UK Armed Forces and Emergency Services, helping them regain independence and confidence.

If youโ€™d like to support us, any donation โ€“ no matter how big or small โ€“ would be hugely appreciated and will go a long way towards supporting this fantastic charity.

At Bobbyโ€™s Buddies, your dogโ€™s safety and wellbeing always comes first. During warmer weather, walks and outdoor activities may be adjusted to protect dogs from heat-related illnesses and unsafe conditions.

*Please note that if youโ€™re at work and your dogโ€™s time slot cannot be changed for an earlier walk, a house/garden visit will be done instead*

Our Warm Weather Policy

๐Ÿถ Walk Times May Change

During hot weather, walks may be moved to earlier mornings or later evenings when temperatures are cooler.

๐Ÿพ Shorter Walks in High Temperatures

If temperatures become too high, walks may be shortened to prevent overheating and heat exhaustion.

๐ŸŒณ Shade & Cooler Routes

Where possible, shaded routes, grassy areas, and cooler walking environments will be prioritised.

๐Ÿ’ง Hydration Breaks

Fresh water will always be available, and regular hydration breaks will be encouraged throughout walks.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Hot Pavement Safety

Pavements can become dangerously hot for dogโ€™s paws. If the ground is too hot to touch comfortably, walks may be modified or replaced with toilet breaks and enrichment visits instead.

๐Ÿšซ Extreme Heat Conditions

In extreme temperatures or heatwave warnings, walks may be cancelled for safety reasons. Owners will always be informed as early as possible.

โค๏ธ Your Dogโ€™s Health Comes First

Some dogs are more vulnerable to heat, including puppies, senior dogs, flat-faced breeds, and dogs with thick coats or health conditions. Extra care will always be taken.
