⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ PLEASE SHARE BROMSGROVE / BELBROUGHTON AREA ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
I want to share a serious incident that happened today. I was walking in the area shared on the photo. A small area of woodland near Chaddesley woods i haven't been before. I was planning on visiting Chaddesley woods but as the road closures are happening around that area I turned off to Woodcote Lane and pulled over on a lay by to my right and walked in a public patch of woodland.
I was with my 6month old puppy.
There was a woman in the woodland with approx 8 dogs. Many were off the lead and out of control. I counted maybe 3 collies, a labradoodle and a couple fox red labradors.
The collies tailed me some of the way and as my dog is so young without manners I took myself off the path to wait for them to pass me. Whilst I was hid away, the group of dogs started fighting and getting aggressive with eachother. The lady was screaming for them to stop but they wouldn't. I picked up my dog and ran towards a field. As I thought I was safe, 3 dogs ran after me in the field and kept approaching me In a NON friendly matter. I was screaming at them to back off and the owner to come get her dogs.
She didn't answer, I screamed and screamed for her to come and get her dogs as I had a puppy and couldn't get out the field as I had to get back in the woods to get to my car.
She responded. "Too late they're coming for you now anyway" do you know the utter fear to be completely alone surrounded by three off lead dogs when I have a puppy?
She eventually appeared out of the woods with 6 more dogs approx on the lead. No apology, hiding her face and told me. I'm going home now anyway. This was very very scary. I am an ex dog walker I am a dog savvy person to say the least. But it honestly has shook me to my core. If I had my daughter with me I wouldn't of been able to act as quickly. She left across the field with the horses in as I assume she lives in one of the surrounding farms.
Please be aware!! This could of ended so badly if I didn't react how I did. She hid her face and showed no remorse and I am very shook up. I felt completely vulnerable in this moment and I honestly believe the fact I RAN carrying my 20kg puppy... it gave her time to rally her dogs on the lead in the woodland. I dread to think what would of happened if I had passed them or not taken myself off the path. It was very very scary and I am still shook up tonight. They were very pent up and aggressive.
Please avoid this area or be careful anyone that walks in bromsgrove area. She hid her face from me and I was literally SHAKING so I didn't get a photo. I do NOT think this was a dog walking company she had a group of what looked like working dogs. She purposely disguised herself and could not control them. This makes me think it could be a regular occurrence and she clearly doesn't care. We got out lucky. But it's not ok it even happened in the first place.
No one should feel that unsafe walking their dog.
WOODCOTE LANE
Where the blue dot is pinned is exactly where I got out of my car to enter the woodland.
