🌟 Meet Jade 🌟

Jade is one of our Riding Instructors here at Hall Place, and horses have quite literally been part of her life from the beginning. Growing up at the riding school owned by her mum, the equestrian world has always felt like home.

Her experience later took her into the racing industry, where she worked as a Travelling Head Girl, travelling with racehorses and saddling up many winners. One particularly special chapter of her career even saw her exercising horses for Queen Elizabeth II during visits to the racing yard. 👑🐎

Away from Hall Place, Jade competes in show jumping with her partially sighted ex-racehorse, and the pair recently achieved an incredible 2nd place at the British Showjumping National Championships. 🥈

Their journey isn't stopping there — Jade is also heading to Aintree to compete at the Retraining of Racehorses National Championships, continuing to show just how much talent and potential ex-racehorses can have beyond the track.

At Hall Place, Jade particularly enjoys teaching show jumping, sharing her experience with riders and helping them develop their confidence and ability. Looking ahead, she hopes to continue developing professionally and qualify as a British Showjumping Coach.

It’s National Racehorse Week 🏇💙

Did you know we have a few former racehorses here at Hall Place?
Topic, Doughnut, abd Cheerio all started their careers on the racetrack and are now part of our riding school, teaching our riders week after week. 🐴

They’ve swapped racing for lessons, jumping and plenty of attention from our clients — and we wouldn’t have them any other way!

Meet Our Sponsored Rider – Lyla 🐴

We're proud to introduce Lyla, one of Hall Place Equestrian Centre's sponsored riders!

Lyla has been riding with us since she was just 4 years old, working her way through the riding school levels before eventually taking over the reins of Matty, who joined the family in 2017.

Today, Lyla regularly competes in unaffiliated showjumping with Matty and continues to develop their partnership together. At 22 years old, Matty is still proving that age is just a number and remains a brilliant competition pony! 🐴

She's also a valued member of our team, helping to school new ponies as they join the riding school, regularly helping on Saturdays and riding our school horses to a consistently high standard in Jump Club.

This September, Lyla and Matty will be representing Hall Place at the Newbury Show, alongside our sponsored rider Laurie. ✨

We're incredibly proud to support Lyla and to have watched her journey from one of our youngest riders to the rider she is today. 💙🐴

🌟 Meet Clare! 🌟

Clare is our Instructor Coordinator and Senior Instructor/Groom, holding BHS Stages 1, 2 & 3 and Stage 3 Coach qualifications. 🐴

Horses have been a huge part of Clare’s life since she was just nine years old. Before becoming a full-time instructor, she worked as a nanny! So it’s no surprise that she particularly loves teaching children and helping younger riders build their confidence and skills. 💙

When she’s not teaching at Hall Place, you’ll find Clare spending time with her own horse, JJ!

We’re very lucky to have Clare helping coordinate our instructors and supporting the next generation of riders here at Hall Place. 🤍

For over 50 years, Hall Place has been more than simply a place to ride. It’s been a place to learn, to grow, to belong and, for so many people, a place filled with memories they’ll carry with them for years to come.

🌟 Meet Lindsey 🌟

If you’ve been at Hall Place a while, you’ll likely know Lindsey! 💙🐴

Lindsey has been part of the Hall Place family for 12 years and is a full-time instructor and our Changing Lives Through Horses (CLTH) Coordinator, and it’s her birthday today! 🎉

Lindsey is passionate about using horses to support young people who thrive outside a traditional classroom. Through CLTH and alternative education, she helps them build confidence, communication and life skills with the help of our horses. 🐴💙

For Lindsey, it’s about more than riding. It’s about seeing young people grow and achieve what they didn’t think possible.

Horses are a family affair too! She owns Chester, and her twins Mags and Violet are also part of the team. 🥹

Fun fact… If Barney ever goes missing from the yard he will be in her garden as she loves him and she might steal him from us! 😂🐴

🌟 Meet Rachel 🌟

We’re delighted to introduce Rachel, one of our Riding Instructors and Grooms here at Hall Place! 💙🐴

Rachel holds her BHS Stage 2 and BHS Stage 2 Coaching qualifications, but her journey with Hall Place started long before she joined the team.
She first rode with us and became a helper back in 2012, before returning to work at Hall Place in 2023.

Rachel is passionate about helping riders improve their position and become more effective and confident in the saddle.She particularly loves incorporating pole work into her lessons, helping both horse and rider develop together.

Outside of teaching, Rachel has two horses of her own. 🐴 Kite, who is now 28, is enjoying a very well-deserved retirement in the field, while Piggy is currently in training ready for more shows this summer.

And if you’ve been around Hall Place for a while, you might already know Rachel has a soft spot for Cheerio! 🤎 He’s her favourite riding school horse, and the pair also compete together in our Hall Place Dressage competitions.

We’re so happy to have Rachel as part of the Hall Place family and to have someone who has been part of our story for so many years.
