I actually know of a few yards that don’t have a fire plan in place and it’s quite concerning
It’s so so important that yard owners, liveries and even private yards have some sort of plan in place should it ever happen

☀️🔥 We’re in the midst of a fourth heatwave, half the country is officially in drought and paddocks are more tinder box than grazing.

🚨If you don’t already have a fire plan in place for your yard, DO IT TODAY.

🐴 Weekend Freelance Groom Wanted – Cane End Stud 🐴

We’re looking for an experienced freelance weekend groom to join our team at Cane End Stud, near Henley-on-Thames.

We’re a professional livery yard that takes huge pride in exceptional horse care, high standards and a supportive team environment. If you’re reliable, hardworking and genuinely passionate about horses, we’d love to hear from you.

The ideal person will:
🐎 Be confident handling a variety of horses.
🧹 Have excellent stable management skills.
⏰ Be reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
✨ Take pride in maintaining a clean, organised yard.
🤝 Be friendly, professional and a real team player.
📋 Be happy to work to our established SOPs and high standards.
✅ Be self-employed/freelance (with appropriate insurance).

Typical duties include:
• Mucking out
• Turning out & bringing in
• Filling haynets & feeds
• Rug changes & picking out feet
• General yard duties
• Maintaining excellent horse welfare and yard presentation

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a positive environment where horses always come first.
