🐾 👃 Week 2 of UK Sniffer Dogs Bronze and those noses are getting BUSY! 🐶🔍

Our fantastic teams are back for another week of scent detection, building on their foundations and developing those all-important searching skills.

It's brilliant to see the dogs growing in confidence, starting to understand the game and putting those incredible noses to work. 🐕💨

And let's not forget the humans! They're learning just as much about reading their dogs, recognising changes in behaviour and understanding how to support their four-legged detectives. 🕵️‍♀️

We're so proud of the progress everyone is making already, and we're only on Week 2.

🎥 Take a look at our super sniffers in action.

🐾💚 OUR SMART DOGS NEED YOUR VOTES! 💚🐾

We’ve got some rather gorgeous Smart Dogs in the running to become the November Facebook cover star for Man’s Best Friends Dog Grooming Parlour! 📸🐶

But before we ask for your votes, we’d love to give this lovely local groomer a well-deserved shout-out! 👏

At Smart Dog Academy, we’re passionate about making sure dogs have positive experiences, and that doesn’t stop at training classes!

That’s why we’re delighted to recommend Man’s Best Friends, who share our commitment to kind, fear-free handling and understand just how important those early grooming experiences can be.

Their puppy introduction sessions allow youngsters to become familiar with the sights, sounds, equipment and handling involved in grooming, taking things at their own pace and helping to build confidence rather than fear. 💚

After all, grooming should be something our dogs feel comfortable with, not something they simply have to tolerate!

🏆 NOW, ONTO OUR SMART DOG SUPERSTARS!

We’ve spotted five familiar faces in the competition:

🐾 No. 13 – Milo

🐾 No. 15 – Loki

🐾 No. 18 – Oakley

🐾 No. 19 – Mia

🐾 No. 23 – Hedley

And we’d love our Smart Dog community to show them some support! ❤️

🗳️ HOW TO VOTE

1. Click the competition link below.
2. Find our Smart Dogs using their photo numbers.
3. Open the individual photos and give your favourites a LIKE! 👍

⚠️ IMPORTANT: You must like the individual photographs for your votes to count. Liking the main competition post doesn’t count!

📅 Voting closes Wednesday 28th October at 8pm.

Good luck to all the gorgeous dogs taking part! 🐶🏆

And a big thank you to Man’s Best Friends for recognising that a great groom starts with trust, patience and positive experiences. 💚

Another massive congratulations to our fantastic teams who have officially graduated from their Trail Hunt International Foundations Course last weekend. Here's a sneak peek of some of the fun we got up to on Sunday transitioning those skills on to different surfaces. There's something about watching a dog do what they do best that brings us so much joy! 🫶

From those first introductions to the scent pod, to building confidence, developing their trailing skills and working the odour, every single one has made fantastic progress! 💪🐾

It's been brilliant watching the dogs working, their confidence growing and their handlers learning to trust those clever noses.

Another big welcome to the gorgeous puppies and their handlers joining us as we kick started off our latest Puppy Socialisation & Exposure Course last weekend. Here's a sneak peek into some of the fun we got up to on week 1!

These lovely youngsters are learning how to navigate the big wide world with confidence, curiosity and plenty of support from their humans! 🐕✨

At Smart Dog Academy, we believe socialisation isn't about meeting every dog or person. It's about creating positive experiences, building resilience and creating confident happy puppies that can handle every day life. 🫶

Look at that beautiful loose lead walking! 😍🐶

Just look at the progress this beautiful Cockapoo has made over the last couple of weeks! We are so proud of how far she has come already with her handler. ❤️

Loose lead walking isn't just about teaching a dog not to pull. It's about setting them up to succeed and making sure they understand what we are asking of them.

✅ Choosing the right environment to support learning.
✅ Understanding the importance of reward placement and timing.
✅ Using the correct techniques to encourage the behaviours we want.
✅ Building confidence, engagement and consistency.

With the right guidance and a little patience, the results really do speak for themselves! 🥰

This lovely girl and her dedicated handler have been putting in the work, and it is fantastic to see their progress.

Remember, it's not about perfection. It's about progress, and this team is absolutely smashing it. 💪🐕

It's all about connection, not correction!

A big welcome to this gorgeous Cavapoo pup!

Just look at this adorable little face 😍

We had the absolute pleasure of meeting this gorgeous 12-week-old Cavapoo for their first 1-2-1 puppy home session, and it's safe to say we're already smitten 🥰

Our puppy home sessions are all about giving puppies and their families the best possible start, with tailored support, practical advice and plenty of opportunities to learn through positive reinforcement.

🐾 From a tiny 10-week-old puppy to a gorgeous teenager! 🐶❤️

We absolutely love getting to see our puppy clients grow up, and it was a real pleasure to catch up with another gorgeous young Cocker Spaniel today who has been through our 1-2-1 home sessions as well as our Puppy Foundation Course.

It's been wonderful to see how far he's come and to continue supporting his family with some loose lead walking exercises as they navigate through adolesence 🤗
