Part-Time Weekend Shop Assistant
Location: Rayne, Essex
Job Type: Part-time, weekend work
We are a friendly, family-run animal feed and supplies business based in Rayne, Essex. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and practical product knowledge. We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic person to join our team and help support the continued growth of our business.
Key Responsibilities
•Opening and closing the shop
•Serving customers and providing a friendly, professional service
•Offering advice on animal feed and products (training provided where required)
•Restocking shelves and maintaining shop presentation
•Taking customer orders
•Carrying and lifting feed and bedding bags
•Assisting with stock takes and inventory management
•Managing cash transactions and cashing up
•Supporting social media activity and email marketing campaigns
•Updating website content when required
•Working independently and using initiative to complete daily tasks
Requirements
•Must be legally permitted to carry out the duties of the role, including any age-restricted tasks where applicable
•Good computer skills and confidence using digital systems
•Able to carry out manual handling duties, including lifting feed and bedding bags, with appropriate training, equipment and reasonable adjustments where required
•Reliable, trustworthy and able to work independently once trained
•Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
•Interest in animals and animal care
•Previous retail experience is welcome but not essential, as training will be provided
