People often think that a dog walker simply comes, picks up a dog, takes them for a walk, and brings them home again. And while that is part of the job, there is so much more to it than that.
Over time, these dogs become so much more than clients. I learn their personalities, their routines, their favourite places to explore, and the little things that make them happy. I celebrate their milestones, look out for their wellbeing, and care for them as if they were my own.
Every wagging tail, muddy paw, excited greeting, and adventure shared creates a bond that is hard to put into words. We become a team. They become part of my everyday life, and each one holds a special place in my heart. I genuinely love every single one of them for who they are, and I feel incredibly lucky that their owners trust me to be part of their lives.
Of course, not every chapter lasts forever. Some of the dogs I've had the privilege of walking have sadly crossed the rainbow bridge, and others are no longer with me because their owners' circumstances have changed. But no matter how much time passes, there isn't a day that goes by where I don't think about them. The memories, the adventures, and the love they gave stay with me always.
Being a dog walker is about so much more than exercise. It's about trust, friendship, companionship, and building bonds that leave paw prints on your heart forever. ❤️🐾
