To you 333 followers, thank you. The Radlettt store is really starting to grow, and thank you to all of you regular Radlett customers. It has been a rocky couple of years since we first opened in Radlett, but I have a really solid team there now, and it is all starting to make good sense. Keep talking to us, because we want to be the pet shop that you want.

Hello everyone. Eric, here. I'm not going to use the royal 'we' for this post. It's been a whole 16 days since I posted on here! The business of relocating my store in Hemel Hempstead has been taking my attention over the past couple of the weeks, but the Radlett store is ticking along nicely. Some of our core offerings are steadily growing in sales, and the store is starting to deliver more consistent sales. TPMS meats used to be ordered every two or three weeks, but now it is being delivered almost every week. Paleo Ridge, Nutriment, and Benyfit raw are all heating up, and I am having to increase my stock levels and frequency of ordering for all of these brands.
I am very happy with my team in Radlett, who are coping very well without me having to get very involved, and the store is steadily improving in performace. Thank you to all of you regular customers, and please keep talking to us about what you need from us.

These are now in Radlett. They've only been here a couple of days, but already flying out the door. Single protein sausages, with sweet potato and minerals. We are stocking Venison and also Partridge.

Also in Radlett!

We now have Brothies in both stores. These are made from 90% beef bone broth, with natural additives. We are stocking them in beef, peanut butter, and mixed berry flavours.

More Dougies was delivered this morning, including 60 bags of frozen sprats! The sprats are a nice size, and £4.99 for 1kg.

This post will make several of you happy; the Loyalty scheme for Natures Menu nuggets is back, and better than before. If you purchase ten bags, then the tenth bag is free. You don't need to purchase them all at once, and we will keep the cards in store so you can't lose them. And we are still cheaper than both Pets at Home and Pets Corner. You can keep it local, keep it small business, and still get a better deal from us.

A lady from the Borehamwood foodbank came in today, asking if we could somehow work together, to provide food for people who have hit financial difficulty, and have pets to feed. This has been in consideration for a while, but had gone off my radar. Meeting her gave me the nudge to sort something out, so we now have a collection area for pet food donations. For many years now, in my Hemel store we have been collecting pet food for the foodbank in Hemel Hempstead, and that has been very worthwhile, with the basket filling up every few weeks, often with many items not purchased from us, which is absolutely fine. Better to give things to someone who will appreciate them, than to waste them.

We are recruiting again. I thought I would put the word out here first, before I resort to Indeed.com, and go through the arduous process of rejecting the hundreds of applications which clearly aren't serious. I have had a staff member suddenly leave, and I have part-timers who are due to go back to full-time study / travelling the world, so I need to recruit!
We are looking for a part timer who can work any day of the week, including some weekend days, between 9:00 and 17:30. We need someone who can work 21 hours per week, and has the flexibility to work more when the situation requires it. Our store in Radlett continues to steadily grow, so for the right person there could be the opportunity to take on more responsibility over time.
The Radlett branch specialises in natural dog treats and raw dog food, so you will need to be in favour of feeding dogs a natural raw diet, and not squeamish about handling and preparing products such as chicken feet, raw bones, and hairy rabbit ears etc.
Being a dog-centric shop, we enjoy letting our customers bring their dogs in for treats and a bit of love. It is very important that you are confident with dogs of all sizes. We aim to offer great service with helping to fit harnesses and muzzles etc.
The successful candidate will be a real 'people-person', approachable, and enjoy getting to know our many different customers, and helping them to make decisions that will make life better for them and their dogs. If you like dogs and getting to know people from all walks of life, this is a fun job. We stock products that weigh as much as 20kg, and we have a flight of stairs dividing the two floors of the shop, so you will need to be physically capable of working with that. This is a retail job, so there will be the usual retail operations of cash-handling, date-checking, stock-counts, restocking shelves, and keeping the store clean and well merchandised.

We need to recruit someone who can start in late August.
